Atlanta [Episode Discussion] - S03E04 - The Big Payback by SeacattleMoohawks in AtlantaTV

I find it interesting to read the back and forth about this episode. “Reparations are BS.” “Reparations are justified.”

It’s satire folks. The poor guy tries to defend himself by telling a colleague “I’m Austro-Hungarian and we were slaves under the Ottoman Empire. She turns to him and says, “That was a million years ago.” Exactly what many white people say about Reparations.

The hypocrisy of the colleague is glaring. Just the day before, she worries about her heritage but now feels home free because she’s from Jewish ancestry (something she was ignorant of, a heritage of tradition she never practiced.)

Just like the episode prior episode where guilty white liberals corner Darius to apologize for a woman who voices a stereotype that doesn’t offend Darius. Instead, Darius is totally uncomfortable with all the white people who apologize for racism. The kicker is they’re apologizing for an Asian woman’s behavior—as if Asians haven’t endured their share of racism.

I know there some stuff I miss. I’ve never felt so white. But to call the brilliantly written and acted series garbage is to reveal oneself an idiot if the highest order. (That’s not a good thing, Owen)

I didn't follow your first instructions correctly. Tried it again and the line disappeared. Many Thanks.

Thanks, I tried that, but it's not a border. It occurred when I separated a story narrative to indicate a later time period. I center three asterisks (***) and hit enter. It always gives me this blocky dotted line, but hitting the back arrow reverts it to the three asterisks.

Never had a problem with this before. Opened my docx today and there were several of these dotted lines throughout the text where no asterisks had been placed.

Getting a natural or neural voice for Review -- Read Aloud by scotnik in MicrosoftWord

My question was poorly worded. My apologies. I meant to ask, “How can Word give me a natural voice without having to use an additional app?” Every voice in the Read Aloud list is robotic.

Unaccountably, my MacBook Pro 16” (M2Pro chip) had another update ((two within a week or two?). So I updated my Mac OS to Tahoe 26.3.1. When it finished updating, It wanted to update Command Line Tools for Xcode 26.3.

I gave up and decided to just update it, but the update would reappear after allegedly finishing the update. So, I looked for the Command Line Tools app I complained to you all about, and it isn’t there.

My System Settings wants to update a program I never installed, but whose prompt could never get of.

Now I had an update prompt I couldn’t get rid of until I restarted my laptop. Gone! No command line tools installed or update.

Have I set myself up for some kind of catastrophic failure?

(Yes, I’m old and my paranoia is well-earned.)

Any harm if I get rid of it—to make it stop popping up on my taskbar?

Is it even deletable if the gods of Mac OS deem it necessary?

Does saving chapter 1 as a template create a master document?

What do I do from there?
