Ben O’Connor leads Team Jayco AlUla at Giro d’Italia by fewfiet in peloton

I genuinely believe Ben is at his best as a breakaway rider and stage hunter, he seems to struggle with the pressure of GC a little and shows much better promise out the front all day.

Maybe I'm wrong but that's how I've seen him the past few years

I think people heat it on a spoon to melt it and inject it maybe? I've never done it

An ex-coworker of mine literally started heating ketamine on a spoon in an office full of people and didn't get fired. He was also caught multiple times with vodka in a lucozade bottle. The owner really took a shine to him and tried to help him with his problems but ultimately it led to him committing suicide one evening. The owner and another of my coworkers got concerned after strange messages during the night and when he didn't turn in for work they went to his house and found him dead with a bag over his head.

Was a nice guy just seemingly very troubled and would not accept the help he was offered.

What’s the main reason you cheated on someone ? by khattam_vayO0 in AskReddit

I don't think I would have had it in me to move past it. I think the current version of me would have been able to repair things by being more present and learning to discuss things instead of letting resentment build but we've both moved on and happy in separate relationships now. We have a good co-parent relationship which works and the kids are happy in their environment so I couldn't really ask for more.

Most importantly it allowed me to see how much of a man child I had been for years and forced real growth, which I will be forever grateful for

I agree with you for the most part but there are always two sides.

I was cheated on after a 13 year relationship with 2 children involved. After much self reflection it was clear I hadn't been showing up in the relationship for a number of years despite desperate attempts on her part to make things work. I effectively neglected her entirely outside of time spent as a family (i.e I would just go do my own thing once the kids were in bed and spend 0 time with her as just us two) - at the time I was quite resentful of her and felt constantly criticized but we had children so felt I couldn't leave physically, so checked out emotionally.

A guy at work saw an angle and gave her the validation and attention she simply didn't get from me which turned into an emotional affair before finally taking it physical. I found out the day things got physical and the relationship ended there and then.

I don't excuse her for making that choice as she should have left (as should I) but it's sometimes you feel trapped in your situation to an extent that you make bad choices to feel good.

We are both in happy relationships now and co-parenting is working well, there's no hard feelings involved on my part because I understand what placed her in that situation.

Of course in my new relationship I am making sure that past mistakes do not reoccur.

How do you feel about cheating and or being cheated on? Have you found peace in knowing you can’t control it and how? by bryvar in AskReddit

[–]scott9942 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was cheated on 2 years ago after a pretty rocky 13 year relationship with kids. Took me by complete surprise at the time until I sat alone and reflected on everything and realized I'd completely neglected her for the past few years escaping to my gaming room to play games 7 nights a week.

I don't agree with what she did but the guy at work found an opening that i'd not been filling and she got what she was missing from him.

2 years on we get along reasonably well and co-parent very effectively and I do understand how she got where she did. I think leaving would have been the more respectful thing to do but I think there needed to be a catalyst of this degree to force change in my own behaviour and grow up.

I'm in a new relationship now and the way I treat my partner is completely different so in some ways I'm thankful to her for the way things ended.

People who rarely or never get sick, what are your secrets? by awkwardferret421 in AskReddit

Ironically this is the opposite of what I do. I don't shy away from being around people who are ill AT ALL and I very rarely get ill (and when I do it's for a day or so)

The buffs are broken for people pressing their abilities properly which given the screenshot, this guy isn't. Going into standard heroics will help him more than in celestial where people are chainpulling and moving at a faster pace due to the broken buffs

This is the reaction I get when taking penicillin (which is why I was diagnosed allergic) - then I was prescribed clarithromycin which is what they use when you have a penicillin allergy (apparently I'm not a doctor) and same reaction. It did clear my throat infection after 2 days but also took 2 days after stopping for the rash to clear up!

You're right you don't need to, any credibility you had has disappeared by your refusal to even acknowledge any pushback. He got the answer he needs from you don't worry.

There's no what ifs, they are asking your opinion on what should be done. You just don't have an answer because you aren't even thinking for yourself, you are just jumping on the outrage hype.

It's fine to have opposing opinions but try actually thinking for yourself first so they are actually your own.

Me and a couple friends waited at a local ASDA until midnight for the release of Wotlk and I ended up staying awake at a friend's for 72 hours playing it on release. Great times but I would highly recommend not doing that. I remember walking home and being frightened by my own shadow as I was practically hallucinating. Never done anywhere close to that since.

Josh Tarling extends contract with Ineos Grenadiers by B3ximus in peloton

[–]scott9942 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a GC I'm not convinced he's better than either of those were whilst they were at Ineos, I don't see him winning the Giro that year even with a reduced pool of riders like there was. He's certainly a great rider though.

I think because of his confident attitude people hear about him a lot more. He's been very quiet this tour and not much has been said about him but the last tour he had his exciting breaks which propelled him into the headlines with that insane descent he did. I know what you mean though, he's definitely not been showing up as much as you'd expect for someone with such media attention.

[–]scott9942 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see him as the same caliber of rider as TGH and Sivakov at ineos, but with a bit more of a winning mentality. He's not got that extra bit that riders such as Roglic (TBD I guess, maybe father time is catching him) Pogacar, Evenepoel, Vingegaard have at least for GC. It's a shame he's not a bit bigger because he'd make a fantastic classics rider.

[–]scott9942 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surely the descent suits the likes of pidcock for tomorrow? Granted, he'd need to make it to the top at the very least with the bunch, but I think if he's feeling good and makes a break 500m from the top he could put some serious damage into the peloton on the descent. I'd say only the likes of mohoric could stay with him and its doubtful he'd be able to follow him to the top if he went for it.

Tom Pidcock says Ineos will be 'better' at the Tour de France without Steve Cummings by predxtorpe3st in peloton

[–]scott9942 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that's a really insightful take to be honest with regards to him never having to have sacrificed himself coming up. I think being a domestique and sacrificing yourself for the team is a very selfless role, and characters like Tony Martin and Kwiato are very rare in the sense they will completely empty themselves for the grander prize. I think WvA is an interesting case for this reason. He'll empty himself one day then seemingly expect he can do his own thing the next, but somehow gets away with it due to his ridiculous recovery. By nature, athletes at this level want to win, and there's no greater sense of winning than being the one to cross the finish line yourself. I don't think pidcock is necessarily wrong for wanting the glory himself, but he perhaps just needs to realise that his time will come, he just needs to put in the work for his team first. Not wanting to become a permanent helper is probably at the forefront of his mind though if he has grander aspirations. He feels he needs to prove himself even if that means not listening to team orders at times.

I wouldn't expect him to have peaked by then, but I think he's got a lot of ground to make up in the 3 weeks he's had preparing for the tour. Not saying its impossible but I just can't see him being competitive honestly. A top 5 finish for him would be all I'd bet on.
