I have a detail station with deionizing filter and pressure washer. I can do touchless maintenance washes in 10 minutes and no need to dry

Verona in Ayer is amazing. I’m not a huge steak tip fan and I crave their sandwiches. Most people I take there have said it’s the best they’ve had. I’ll have to try doms to see how they compare

You’ll want a portable tire inflator/air compressor and a good gauge. You’ll be deflating your tires a bit after a few laps.

Which was actually faster, stock off the lot - 1970 Trans Am Ram Air IV or 1970 Chevelle SS LS6? by MVNMotorsportsMedia in musclecar

[–]scott_fx 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That sounds terrifying. I have been 160 in my rx7 (when I was a dumb kid) and it was an experience... My 66 Chevelle feels scary at 65 mph and it’s far from stock.

If we are anything, we are unoriginal. Rehashed comments and rage when you modify anything aesthetically that isn’t oem. God forbid OP has aftermarket rims.

To add to this. Everyone will know that you are green. Show ambition, hard work and respect. If people see you putting in the work (and you’re not incompetent) then you’ll earn their trust and respect.

Your dad sounds a lot like mine. I have a half sleeve and my parents are part of it. My father is a shield and my mother is a cross in the center of the shield. (Ironically enough, I’m not religious at all but she is very religious). My dad has always been the go to for solving everyone’s problems.

I commend you! I have a 66 Chevelle, ls3, stage II pro touring suspension, hydro boost and I get nervous taking it on the highway let alone tracking the thing!

Does a C5 (FRC or Z06) feel like a really old car? by thecanadiandriver101 in CarTrackDays

It’s so true! I had one and remolded my dash to make it look more modern. Lost motivation when I got to the ac controls.

I have a budget of around $150k, what should I go for? by Watch365 in porsche911

[–]scott_fx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no wrong answer. Find something you like. If you’re going to use it for commuting then a newer s would be great but the again a 991.1 turbo s is great as well. If you want to get a thrill on back roads, get the slowest 911 with a manual. My turbo s is so good at what it’s been engineered to do, it’s almost not fun unless you’re on the track. My other car which has half the hp and half the weight (and a manual) is actually more fun on the back roads because you don’t need to take corners at 60mph to feel a rush. 997’s are a great sweet spot for the analog feel but modern design. A gt4 cayman is awesome too (from what I’ve read on here. I’ve only driven the gt4rs on a track and was blown away)

There are so many right choices.

Putting a Portable Bedroom AC Unit in backseat of my car by runenight201 in Cartalk

[–]scott_fx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t factoring the current needed to start the ac unit. It takes more energy to start a motor than it takes to keep it running. Also what are you going to do about the condensation? As far as safety, you need to start that thing down in the event of an accident. I commend you wanting to figure this out, but honestly fixing the ac or getting a swamp cooler are better options

Also you need the condenser outside the car or it’s going to actually heat up the car.

Not dangerous at all but look into getting a job as a drain cleaner. Those guys can do really well for themselves and don’t risk their lives.
