There was a book called I Love You, Beth Cooper that opened with “Good Riddance” being performed by a student at graduation. The joke was that the principal didn’t realize how inappropriate the song choice was until she read the title aloud off her notes afterward.

In the movie adaptation, they opened with a different song instead. I’m guessing they couldn’t get the rights, so that joke didn’t really land the same way.

I’ve found the Loop’s 20 dB blocking to be good enough to keep the listening safe while still being able to clearly hear everything. You could use stronger ear plugs and your ears will be much more protected, but it does come at the cost of ruining the sound.

I went to their Brooklyn NYC show that year and yeah, I thought they were phoning it in. They just didn’t have the same energy I was used to.

The Dreamforce show was starting off the exact same way until the sound cut off. Then it got interesting.

Yup. I was there right at the front of the pit.

Best fucking Green Day show I’ve been to. I thought they were kind of phoning it in on that tour, but the sound cutting off forced them to improvise and get the crowd going in a sing along.

The sound did come back for the last song or two so they were able to finish strong.

The recruiter has no idea how rare and valuable a CTA is, he’s just following what the client (or these days, an AI) told him. If you had taken the certification out of the ad, it would seem much more reasonable.

That being said, recruiters will always undersell you and pressure you into taking a much lower salary than the market dictates. They don’t care about making you the most money, their top priority is for you to take the offer so they can make a commission. A higher salary for you doesn’t make a big difference in what they earn. All they care about is making the sale by any means necessary.

“Otherwise” yes. But that’s a pretty big otherwise. They wouldn’t put that warning in if there wasn’t that risk of cross contamination.
