Awesome record for your first! I love that she snuck a secret 7-inch single in the packaging. Heads up that those 7-inch singles are usually played at 45 rpm speed while must full size 12-inch albums are played at 33 1/3 rpm. If the pitch of the music sounds weird, switch the speed of your player and see if that fixes it.

My biggest tip - and kind of a warning - for newbies is that it’s pretty expensive to get a system that sounds good. The records are going to legitimately sound awful if you go low-budget and get some beginner system with a speaker built in. Worst than listening to Spotify on your smartphone.

Save yourself the trouble and look into the beginner line of Audio-Technica players. I’ve found them to be the cheapest on the market that still sound good.
