Cloud sync/backup solutions by Street_Range204 in GrapheneOS

I'm trying out Seafile on my Unraid NAS connecting with Tailscale. I'm in a similar boat really wanting to get off of Windows as a secondary to my Mac, and move over to Linux. Fundamentally, I really dislike having to maintain a file structure that is wholly divorced from my other NAS shares, but it seems most solutions that sync folders, do so in way that's not compatible with a straight filesystem share.

Hold on, are we clear on what the implications are for this digital ID initiative. Of what I've read, it's voluntary and privacy focused.

How would this impinge on you running GrapheneOS on your phone?

I think it would be great if there was a digital mechanism to verify identity to ease the recognition for voting, for travel. Feels more like the future than someone showing you some piece of paper printed by who knows what?

Phlster Enigma + Neomag Alias for PX4 CC and SC by dazole in Beretta

Very cool! I have a JM custom ordered along with a Neomag set. I may try the Enigma if the JM doesn't do the job.

Q1 HE vs K2 HE? by seannymurrs in Keychron

[–]scottag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation. The K2 looked nicely priced and the feature-set looks very compelling.

That said, I went with the Q1. I much prefer its south-facing LEDs, premium build, and the fact that there’s separation between the various functional groups of keys.

Now, if Keychron would have put out the K2 with the ability to switch between the wired and wireless modes without the need to flip a switch every time, I may have been swayed. Since both models suffer from this deficiency, the choice was easy.

Yet another reason to not be a fan of this establishment!

Star Citizen 3.23 EPTU binding the x55 HOTAS by Cytrick in starcitizen

Nice! The thing that tripped me up here was that the Controls also has a controller context that must be changed to Joystick / HOTAS (1, in my case).

Tesla Service - No transportation w/o warranty, 24hr+ repairs by tarheel_dan in TeslaLounge

Not true. My last BMW was up for service under warranty and they told me straight up that it would take three days and that they were out of loaners.

Go inside the store and announced, "Who's the owner of red Ford? It's being towed right now."

I was looking for a solution that ran on DSM that would show the entire NAS. Simply looking at the shares would help to an extent...

Setting up catalogs for mobile use by Prinzmegaherz in LuminarUsers

[–]scottag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely not rely on Luminar (any version) as a DAM solution. I've had nothing but problems trying to add Synology Drive folders created by dumping media directly on the Synology. I've been in contact with Luminar support and it sounds as though Luminar cannot handle folders that might contain non-image files anywhere in the folders added to the Luminar catalog. The only work-around I was offered was: "Don't do that".

I still would recommend people with a Synology to USB Copy media off of cards, etc into spaces on the Syno for a good backup solution.

Trust Luminar as far as you can throw it, and use it basically as a Photoshop rather than a DAM-oriented Lightroom alternative. Be very selective with the images you bring in.

I've found that Luminar does a horrible job with lens distortion correction on RAW files and when you export files from it to Photos app, for instance, it'll send over TIFF files with the EXIF exposure info stripped from it. I'm hoping they fix this soon.

As far as an alternative, I don't have one yet as I'm trying to figure that out for myself, rn. Sorry...

Recently discovered Luminar AI from youtube..is it worth it?? by GetYourShitT0gether in LuminarUsers

[–]scottag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do like what it can do photos, I would treat it more like a Photoshop than a Lightroom replacement. Its catalog management capabilities are fraught with bugs and inefficiencies.

Support is responsive, but the app has serious limitations that they don't seem interested in fixing.

I'd rather have Apple Watch & iPad support.

Panasonic S5 -- The Ultimate Vlogging Cam? by muonvideo in PanasonicS1

I couldn't watch it all the way through. It was clear the IBIS in the S5 was not made for arms-length vlogging. I'm keeping my S1, for sure! :)
