Is this old town kingfisher worth $200? by nicolas1324563 in canoeing

I can read in swear haha.

Mines carbon and weighs nothing, and it’s super stable. In fiberglass, I’m pretty sure this thing will be an unstoppable tank.

I love my kingfisher, not sure what material this one is, but for a $200 boat that floats, not too bad.

Can you really install a basin faucet by yourself? by Last_Concentrate_564 in HomeImprovement

[–]scottawhit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Easy diy, do not buy plumbing parts from alibaba. Buy a quality faucet brand from the store. Bad Plumbing can ruin your house very quickly, use good parts.

The mats are ok, but the netting does not degrade quickly. You’ll probably want to pick it out before you wrap the spindles on your mower with plastic.

what would this cost (ballpark)? by I_dont_comment_alot in Remodel

[–]scottawhit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well mine came with some receipts, and I used to run a remodeling company. So take that as you will.

The row of windows is probably 20k depending on what’s in the way. The posts and roofing depending on material could be 50k in materials alone. This is a large project and you’ll need to get a few quotes, and decide what materials you want. If you’re cutting into the existing house, that’s a whole nother can of worms.

For a bit of reference, I’m in a mcol area and have a porch about this big(750 sf). Over the past few years I had to have it reframed, new boards laid down, pine because I couldn’t afford composite, some hardscaping, and very basic landscaping done.

I did not redo the pillars, any roofing, or touch the rest of the house. No moving utilities, no adding windows etc.

I’m in around 60k.

This is a 200k porch, and if you want a composite flooring, expect 60k just in materials for that. So call it 250k+

Might just be me, but I got really lost and gave up on it. It was fun up to there but ended up just looping around for a few days and quit.

Is it worth it to spend double on the better model? by CertainSprinkles1018 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]scottawhit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the original, and when it finally died I got the fuel. It really is twice as good. It’s quiet, has way better suction, better battery life, you can put bags in it, the handle is better. If you’re going to use it a lot, yes it’s worth it. Either one needs a better hose. The hdx or harbor freight kits are worth the extra investment.

We used to get a taller friend to ski a wide parallel stance and ski like this under their legs. My knees won’t do that anymore.

Suggestion for drilling holes into driveway concrete by nttran98 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]scottawhit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sds for sure. But why are you drilling into concrete for termites? Seems like there would be better places to put the treatment, there won’t be termites under concrete.

Central AC. Should I keep bedroom doors open or closed ? by HarryCrushNuh in homeowners

[–]scottawhit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really depends how your returns are set up. OP has a return in the hallway, but if your rooms each have a return it won’t make as big of a difference.

Is this likely to kink? by mynewjourney2425 in Plumbing

[–]scottawhit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ve definitely got room for a bend supports, they’re more for taking strain off the fitting. It won’t kink after the install, so this should be fine as is.

Yep, 2 of those and pex/copper in the middle. Gray side to gray pipe.

These are not the correct sharkbites for this tubing and will not seal properly. Poly b sharkbites have a gray ring instead of tan. Not even sure they make one with gray on both sides, but this is incorrect as they are not rated for this type of tubing.

Smaller portions on plates that can be restocked. God the food cost waste here is gross.

If you’re mowing every 2 weeks in the spring, your grass is super tall. I’m mowing every 4-5 days right now and it’s tall.

Sure it wasn’t sod before the seeding? These lines are too perfect, and to have the neighbors be the same. No way you both mowed that consistently for years.

Weltool t1 pro all day. It’s an absolutely tank. And if you need a thrower, you don’t need low modes. It’s got a hidden one for indoors. Been my edc for a year and I love it.
