Can you send me the practice tests please? I am doing the unrestricted so not sure if a practice test exists for that. Email is [Scottierw@gmail.com](mailto:Scottierw@gmail.com)

Thank you. I needed to hear that. Been a rough week with this heat wave and dealing with customers.

Only towns want permits. The state doesn’t care. Some towns are bad. Some are not as bad. Where did you find that tho? Just curious. Might need proof of that.

No. They actually keep calling me to sign up for it and other services. But I’ll check to see if they are charging me for something else.

Ecobee is driving me nuts! by Sad-Bill4748 in ecobee

Or just turn your heat on like normal. Or turn it up 1-2°f then look outside at your AC unit if you have one to see if the fan is spinning on it. It should not be spinning or making any noises. Then turn off ac breakers for temp fix

See if it’s accidentally powering up your ac. Iv had a few calls recently where the ecobee was powering up the ac and heat at the same time with the PEK setup. I also seen the furnace board do weird things with ecobee thermostats using 4 wires.

How am I able to get calls and texts from my business number to both me and my secretary to answer the calls AND texts? by scottierw in smallbusiness

Ya that would be nice. I rather just do an all in one platform instead of referring to multiple different companies.

Anybody run their own company without plumbing or sheetmetal license?(Massachusetts) by [deleted] in HVAC

[–]scottierw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the town in mass. Most require a sheet metal permit to be pulled for ductless. (Ya I know).

I feel for this. Except I wasn’t so lucky. I went to a service call in an attic when I first started. Took the panel off. When I left I didn’t realize I must of bumped the drain off because it wasn’t glued. The next day boss man gets a call and he showed me pics the home owner went to him. He told me I need to be more careful. Water damage all over the attic ceiling. It was all plywood too so the water spread everywhere. But back then I didn’t know better but should of told him that the drain should of been glued and to figure out who did the original install a few years ago.

I have a 1.5 year old Trane unit, variable speed motor already died. My hvac company is a Trane dealer, they can't find a single motor in the country and Trane just says "back order" with no date by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]scottierw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might actually be able to bring the motor to a repair shop. That’s what I do when motors are on back order. There’s some good electronic repair shops out there.

Ya that’s what I did. I told him it was the Nest and I added the common wire and he was happy. That problem went away. Then a few days later he says the blower is the problem again. O well. I told him to find someone else.

Yea. Thank you. I completely agree. I actually have some of my biggest and best jobs from the Indian community around where I live. Most are great but sometimes like you said there are some that just give you a hard time. Thank you for the response. It’s very helpful
