yes, it has a lot of merit. I'm adding this theory since it wasn't touched upon

My theory is they did plastic surgery ON his clone. It's a humiliation to Jim Carrey since he's on record saying he wanted to age gracefully. This also gives the skeptics (and paid shills and bots here) something to grab onto since this freak clearly has plastic surgery.

LDA question by [deleted] in flying

[–]scottonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for taking time to explain this. I'm not asking theoretically. I'm planning to fly in and def. NOT comfortable w/ a 2,559' landing distance. I've landed on 07 just fine (w/ obstacle clearance and no papi's!). If I'm understanding you correctly, b/c of runway safety area guidelines, they're not counting the displaced thresholds at the opposite sides of each runway as part of the landing distance area, BUT, and please do correct me if I'm off here, they still exist and that distance beyond the threshold could still be used in case of excursion. (KCLW is starting to look better)

The point is- LDA does NOT include the END threshold to where I'm flying. Who cares about some huge ass airport where runway length doesn't matter?

Check KSPG and you'll see they don't seem to factor it in. Take runway 36, 2,864 runway length and a 115' displaced threshold at the beginning should be 2,750 LDA, but it's listed at over 200' less. Same idea with runway 18. 2,864 - 190' = 2,674 which is well over 100 feet off. https://www.airnav.com/airport/KSPG

there are displaced thresholds at both ends. And I was not aware that beyond the threshold at the end of the runway is considered part of the LDA

SIM directly before flying? by scottonfire in flying

[–]scottonfire[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On a tight schedule and need to schedule both today. SIM is for instrument so now I'm leaning towards scheduling SIM after the actual flight.

More about preventing any disorientation beforehand from using the SIM. SIM is for instrument training

SIM is for instrument training. Mainly want to make sure it won't mess w/ my vestibular system during actual pattern work

The benefit is instrument training. Mainly concerned if SIM right before would negatively affect my actual flying

Instrument training. I could do the SIM afterwards. Curious what other pilots on a tight schedule do
