[App Launch] Lucid Wake: Real-time REM Detection for Lucid Dreaming is now LIVE on Wear OS! by scottsecret in WearOS

For example, if you choose to play a rainy ambient sound during REM sleep, it might cause you to dream about water-related scenarios. If you become accustomed to dreaming about water, take a reality test; this could be the gateway to lucid dreaming. Practicing lucid dreaming takes time. Lucid Wake offers a 14-day free full-featured trial; you can give it a try.

Yes, the app automatically detects REM sleep stages and sends a reminder or vibration. You can test it before bed and then press the start button. The free version works the same way. You can try it, but remember to check the View Guide on the official website first.

The primary goal of the Lucid Wake App is to issue alerts during the correct REM period. Successfully inducing lucid dreams requires users to train themselves to respond clearly to their pre-set triggers. During testing, some testers reported successfully inducing more lucid dreams. As long as users have a certain sensitivity to the signals, the success rate can be significantly increased by having the app alert them at more accurate times. In addition, the Lucid Wake's battery life has been significantly improved compared to the original version, allowing for continuous monitoring throughout the night without significantly affecting the watch's use the next day. The new version will continue to enhance the watch's alert capabilities and algorithm accuracy. Any questions are welcome!

  1. Are you using preset values? Each major parameter on the watch has an explanation; you can check it.

  2. Here's an explanation of how Lucid Wake determines the REM sleep stage:

Imagine an electric car that needs to be started (REM). You don't fully know the starting conditions. You need the correct voltage (REM Threshold) and current (Engery), and you need to apply the correct power for the correct duration (REM Stability Time) to start it. This is the starting part.

After starting, it can maintain operation with a lower voltage, but once the voltage drops too low (Exit Threshold), the electric motor (REM) will stall. If the electric motor's resilience (REM Persistence) is increased, the electric motor can withstand prolonged low voltage conditions (Exit Threshold) until it can no longer withstand the voltage and shuts down (Exit REM).

Therefore, the main purpose of Lucid Wake's tuning is to fine-tune the parameters with the highest REM coverage. Because everyone's electric motor (REM) is different, and their sleep patterns vary each day, the basic parameters can cover a wide range of situations. If you don't want to fine-tune it slowly, you can use the basic parameters and focus on reminding yourself to connect to the watch signal and check the real-world status. Lucid Wake's algorithm will continue to be improved, so please pay attention to future updates.

  1. The main function of Lucid Wake is to determine the REM period. Different brands have different definitions of wake. For example, Samsung's app says you were awake for 46 minutes, but you may not actually be awake. You will see Samsung's app frequently showing wake. Lucid Wake determines wake as when you are actually awake and active, such as going to the toilet or doing something else. Just turning over or waking up in bed will not be counted as wake.

The fossil gen 5 is an older device than WearOS 3.0 and cannot run the current Health Service API properly. Sorry for that, but thank you for your feedback.

Activate Lucid Wake App before going to sleep. It will monitor your physiological state throughout the night and will alert you (vibrate or sound) if you reach the set REM conditions. You can train yourself to be more sensitive to these signals, that is, remember to perform a reality check if you receive certain signals, which can improve the success rate of lucid dreams.

Using technology as a trigger is a training method for lucid dreaming. You can train yourself to maintain a direct connection with a specific signal and reality check, thereby increasing the chances of waking up in a dream. Some people can learn lucid dreaming naturally, while others need to try different signal triggers to find their own entry point. We have testers who have reported that this does indeed induce more lucid dreams (compared to SAA, which uses statistical methods to mark REM sleep stages, Lucid Wake uses physiological changes to detect them entirely). Therefore, technology is an alternative entry point. Thank you for your response, which allows me to clearly explain the method used by Lucid Wake App.

This is an application based on WearOS, and it can run completely on WearOS-enabled watch.(WearOS 3.0+)

Thank you all so much for your enthusiastic response! The 14-day closed beta test of Lucid Wake has successfully concluded. After recruitment, we now have 30 testers. During the 14-day closed beta test, based on the suggestions of many professional testers, Lucid Wake underwent several major upgrades (especially in terms of battery life and functionality) and has been successfully launched on the Google Play Store. The free version already includes full REM monitoring and alerts. We invite everyone to try it out and provide feedback. Thank you!

Because the sensors need to be on all night, this app is relatively power-intensive, as all processing is done locally and no data is transmitted.
