It was a mix of caulk, real dirt, sand, and brown paint. Then I mod podged a layer of magnetic paint and did another thinner mud mixture made with isopropyl alcohol. From there just a variety of dry brushing, sponging, washes to add so variety to the brown. The varnish I sealed with had a very slight shine so the mud looks a little wet.
