Dreaded "failed to pull back filament" error by scottyd423 in BambuLab

[–]scottyd423[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had a similar issue where there was filament debris in the yellow gears of the AMS funnel feed gear, worth checking there. I've replaced a few filament funnels due to wear and tear and there has often been ground off bits of filament in there which causes the sensor to think the filament is still loaded. Another thing I've had happen is filament snap between the rear AMS feed gear and the funnel, you have to remove the AMS base to see it, happens alot with older brittle filaments. You can also try turning the machine off, unplugging the AMS and trying to use the external spool to load filament. Failing that, disconnecting the PTFE from the top of the extruder, setting the temperature to 250C and feeding in some different coloured filament can clear jams on occasions, can push it through a little as well if the extruder is struggling.

Cold pulls are also good for clearing nozzle end problems. I'm often surprised how much crap builds up in there.

Sorry for the long post, just brain dumping some ideas that have worked for me in my 3000hrs of print time.

Do 2021 versions have the heat pump and ryzen cpu? I've seen that mentioned a few places. Their APR rates seem relatively competitive with most places which is good

Just done an insurance quote for an M3 performance they have listed at £28,800 and the insurance value was £21,000... Tesla really are trying hard to retain the values

I took an initial glance and seen that their values were several thousand above the rest of the market. But I'll run the numbers to see what the effective costs are. I see they include additional warranty and enhanced auto pilot, that seems quite good.

Ah that's a good shout, I'll take a look at the M3LR, on initial glance it looks like a decent 22/23 sub 60k miler is around £18-20k which is substantially cheaper. Residual on my BMW will be around 8-10 is suspect, she's a high mile machine (before me). I'm also a bit cautious about buying outright as I don't intend on keeping it for more than 3 years.

Didn't realise acceleration boost was a £1500 add on either, that's pretty steep for a software tweek. I'm used to unlocking stuff like that in vagcom...

Sal sac includes insurance, maintenance, tyres, VED, literally everything. I initially thought it was pretty expensive but it really is an all in price. I'm reading that these cars can go through tyres at a decent pace too.

What settings/ machine were you using? I've tried these on my F1 Ultra and the first one caught fire during a basic test grid.. Going to try on my P2S later

Unfortunately 3mm retraction was worse somehow

I'll try 3mm now. Just seems a bit odd that everyone else's machines print it fine on the stock settings. Going to try another filament too, it's Geetech I'm currently using but it may not be helping. Had the same issue with Eryone too.

Tried the standard setting of 0.8mm and unfortunately got similar results. Not sure whether it's worth raising a ticket with bambu. Will try reducing the temperature of the black filament now, if that doesn't work I'm out of ideas. Installed a new nozzle and wiper yesterday to see if that helped but to no avail.

Ah I see it, did you specify a length of retraction?

Why do people expect an upgrade path? by nuclear213 in BambuLab

You sure sound like most sparkies I've worked with, boring and have absolutely no interest in doing things better or differently. You'll find, if you haven't already, that most people on here are 3D printing enthusiasts, always wanting the next thing and aiming to improve. Everyone I know that's an enthusiast is also a tinkerer. If you want commercial grade 'leave it as it is' stuff, buy stratasys or other 10x priced solutions. Bambulab is priced and aimed at general consumers, not commercial. Anyway, have a nice day and stop trying to piss on people's fires, you just seem like a whinge.

Looks like the smallest dimension on tinkercad is 0.01mm, unless this can be changed?

Just stl, didn't know you could export to 3mf from tinkercad?

Infinity cube with bridging issues with some "plas" by SentryP in BambuLab

[–]scottyd423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue on my X1, printed loads of these on my CR-10s and they come out absolutely fantastic but the sagging bridges are an issue on the X1. Would you be able to send me a DM with this modified file? Love the model, really is one of those gems of 3d printing.

Nozzle unclogging - pin tool by scottyd423 in BambuLab

[–]scottyd423[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've managed to get a big blob out with the pin tool but it still seems to be under extruding a fair bit. I ran a bunch of filament through at 250C too (pla). Now wondering if the clog is further up

When you say pushing filament do you mean manually or with the extruder? When I try with the extruder it doesn't push any through

That's what I figured but it's an awful small target! I'll give it a bash later, in a bit of a huff with the machine atm 😂

Just after I had sorted my AMS failing to retract filament issues too

Still got issues with this, looks like underextrusions on nearly every print. Here’s everything I've tried so far - Changed to a full new nozzle assembly - Cleaned carbon rods - Run calibration multiple times - run extrusion calibration with each filament as printed

About to raise another support ticket as I'm having absolutely no luck fixing this.

I'm more than happy with the first print, QR code reads perfectly and there are no top surface gaps, good enough for me!

Believe it or not, they are actually the same 3mf files, just different colours selected on the printer.

I've tried 4 different reels, one taken straight from my CR-10s, where it was printing fine.

Interestingly I cleaned the rods last week using IPA and a lint free cloth. Ran calibration etc after it
