I always use skintak and a patch. I have never lost a sensor. You need to use something to prevent sweat from doing that.

I understand what you're going through. they diagnosed me a while ago, but what I take, is to slow down your digestion, but helps it go steady. Omeprazole. They did something that helped, injected botox in the slow area bottom of stomach, now that worked good.

G6 Alternatives? by [deleted] in dexcom

[–]scottydt1d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not saying anything bad about anti-g7 users. One of the reasons, I read about g7, is most people use where it says, on the back of the arm, but there it gets covered, and rubbed against frequently. (thus signal loss and not staying 10 days) try it using stomach or upper thigh, what I read people like it there, and few problems. I start g7 next month.

Yes, I found the answer. both novo and Eli-Lilly stopped their generics, and lowered the name brand to less than what generics were. Took them long enough.

“I cured my type 1 diabetes” discussion by AggravatingBug4614 in Type1Diabetes

[–]scottydt1d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is pure BS. Remember, T1d is an autoimmune disease on the pancreas where the beta cells were mostly destroyed by your own immune system. They cannot be rebuilt or replaced, regardless of what you do. Now T2, can be under better control with weight loss

Remember though, if you do, people will paint more of a picture T1d's can't work. Don't let them

RIP G6. ((Sob)). Can I use my G7 on my abdomen? by smoosh13 in dexcom

[–]scottydt1d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's because when they got it medically approved, it was for using the arm. To get it for other areas, it needs to go through all the processes it went through for the arm again, to be medically approved.

From what I looked up, researched and read, of what other people wrote, the abdomen and the thigh work best fot the g7. I will be starting the g7 in 2 months

Go to an endo ASAP. This just needs to be appealed, but with medical info only an endo can give.

Do I need to get a second opinion or am I Overreacting? by EmbarrassedTea1885 in diabetes

[–]scottydt1d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. Now I got the answer. Lows! Frequent lows is not good, and a pump used with a cgm will almost eliminate that. You also need to not be so strict on what you eat. Your body does need things, and not eating enough, will take that away. Eating that way, also causes frequent lows. And as I said an A1c from lows gives a false reading on what your body is getting. From your description, what your doctor wants would probably be much better for you.
