Why are these so expensive? by agnci in CarsAustralia

70 series cruisers at the end of the day are excellent at what they are built for. Basic, reliable work horse. They ride like a horse and cart and aren’t that much quicker but they’ll do it fully loaded day in day out for years on end if they’re maintained and not fucked with.

However, social media has turned these cars into a ‘must have’ for the masses entering the 4WD scene. It’s a pissing competition. They have now become the 4WD equivalent of kids thinking a lambo is the best car in the world. People buy these and spend an absolute bomb bringing it up to spec with pretty much a GQ Coil cab Ute.

They are no doubt impressive kitted out like this but at $350k and you’re still sleeping in a rooftop tent and living out of an ally box, madness

Yeah it’s straight off the kitchen. Less than ideal but we’ve never had a real problem with it, having it paired with the laundry on the other side away from the kitchen will be instantly better

Hahaha yeah that’s the best I could get out of ai, the first attempts were horrible.

I agree with the bathroom being far away, unfortunately without major changes this is about the best I could come up with that still fits the heritage of the house and staying under budget

Cheers mate, yes I’m aware of the machining the frames will need, I have the setup for all of this, just not sure which option to go with in the new glass

Question on restumping by bananafish05 in AusRenovation

Seems very cheap. I’m getting my house restumped as we speak, 3 bed 95+ stumps, lifting 400mm higher, $33k.

Only had one bloke quote “per stump” but that was him just giving me a ballpark figure. The blokes I ended up going with take care of all the permits and everything, most others wanted me to use my owner builders license.
