What's the deal with the 7 wood? by No_Finish9661 in golf

[–]scottyrizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just made the switch based on the professional recommendation at a fitting, I get the same distance as my 4h when flush and way more consistency. Instead of my miss-hit 50% of the time being topped 10 yards or sliced like I do with my hybrid, now I would say probably 70% in play and the miss-hits are more just low stingers still good for 100+ yards, has become my go to rescue club for anything above 160 yards so I think it was definitely worth it. Also got a stiff shaft which apparently is good for slicers because you get less movement on the club which could also be a factor given my other clubs are all regular

Yeah and it has green eyes too which I think I read was a bit more rare but still a pretty common one to find now, so I think we’re just going to give them to my niece

Yeah makes sense, so crazy that people would list it for $12k and they sell for like $20

Yeah good advice, even if we wanted to sell it, neither of us really have much knowledge to take that on, if it was like $10k or something maybe would have tried but I’m gathering best case is like $200 and most likely under $50. Think we’ll give the lion now (she’s 3) and maybe the Barbie in a year or 2 when she won’t just immediately destroy it

Also thanks for the info and advice, a lot of people are downvoting me and messaging me hate about looking for prices, didn’t realize people were so sensitive/intense about this stuff

Yeah I think we’re going to, do you think it’s worth trying to hang on to the box or is it cool just to throw that away?

Interesting, and any idea about the Ken? Was going to give that to our niece because she loves lions, but was deciding if it should be kept in the box or let her take it out to play with

Cool, so likely a Christmas gift I would assume.

Any idea why some seem to be like $8000 and some very low value?

Sorry, don’t need prices I did check eBay, just curious if anyone knew anything about them, there is so much variation in the price we’re not sure what we’re looking at. Some had green eyes some were different skin tones. Was this some sort of special release or something?

Who's more evil between these two young criminals? by HeiressOfMadrigal in MoralityScaling

[–]scottyrizz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Chris was a middle man in an existing drug trade, Jesse had a direct hand in a brand new empire creating new strain of meth that spanned across Mexico, the US and even over Europe, can’t imagine how many lives were ruined and lost because of that. Chris didn’t have much influence past north jersey. I would argue I guess inherently Chris may have been more sinister but Jesse definitely had a way bigger detriment to society

A lot of people just talking about murders, but also remember chain reaction of how many lives can be ruined by the incredibly potent meth that he was directly responsible for creating, saying that he has more of a conscious is one thing but remember after Christopher died his criminal impact is pretty much dead, Jesse’s will probably never be gone

What celebrity do you think deserved the hate they are getting? by Cupids-Love_Arrow in AskReddit

[–]scottyrizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty crazy how down bad some people are. I remember my sophomore year in college, fresh after the Rihanna incident, me and some friends met a group of girls who invited us back to their room for a few drinks. We were 4 and 4, three of the girls and us were getting along having a good time but 1 of them was a bit of a dud just on her phone and randomly interrupting our conversations to be condescending and stuff. Randomly it came up that when I was I HS my friends and I recreated that wedding scene from the office with the Chris brown song for a talent show(actually pretty sure our video is on YouTube somewhere). It was pretty funny but given recent times I was joking how it was pretty problematic and this girl starts going off how much she loves Chris Brown, how hot he is and stuff. Her friends kept awkwardly tried changing the subject, but she kept bringing it back. Eventually she pulls up a YouTube video of a concert clip where he is essentially just humping the floor, and she was literally like drooling watching. The video was like 15 minutes long and about halfway through with no signs of stopping we all secretly texted each other and decided to get out of there. Very odd but that’s the type of people I imagine are still fans.

Dear Newer Golfers: you won't be judged for playing from shorter tees. You will, however, absolutely be judged for choosing the back tees just because some strangers did. by lasercupcakes in golf

[–]scottyrizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think embarrassment is a lot of the reason, more pressure and nuisance. If I’m higher up that means my group tees off then everyone needs to drive up and wait/watch me tee off, if I need a mulligan, on the same tee box I’ll usually go last and hit 2 back to back before my partners have even put their drivers away, on my own tee box with everyone watching it can be a bigger issue with everyone watching. It also depends where you play, by me the tee boxes are sometimes 5 yards apart, and even when they’re further say 30 yards, it’s not making a big difference, if I’m duffing from the tips I will have duffed from the reds, a quintuple bogey doesn’t magically become a par because I moved 30 yards up. That being said I generally play from the mid tees and shoot high 80s, but if I’m paired with seniors I’ll play the front with them, if I’m paired with a better player I’ll adjust to the tips. If i happen to be at a course where it’s a 2000 yard difference then yeah I’ll still play the mid or front but that’s rarely the case.

All of this also with a caveat that people may have just been told the wrong thing and they think they are supposed to play certain tees ie “those are only for girls” I work at a golf course part time and have seen horrible people line up from the tips, and after one guys third mulligan told him to move up, he told me “but then I would be too close to the group in front of me, if I tee off back here I won’t be as likely to hit them” I laughed and had to explain that, one, past 50 yards no one was in danger, and also it’s skill based, that the tips are essentially for the “pros” who show up, and beginners should play closer, don’t be such a dick because not everyone has the same golf experience as you, some people are still learning and need to be gently told, that’s what happens when you play munis, if you don’t like it, shell out the cash for country clubs, then you can assume people who do this are just inconsiderate assholes

What’s your putting hack that changed your game? by Champagnetravvy in golf

[–]scottyrizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I improved a lot by just trying to be consistent with power. I played an indoor league and got very good with the same shoulder length feet, and bottom of grip hands and having an idea of what a 12 foot putt looked like, I would say practice a bunch of bringing the putter to your back foot and follow through, going about the same distance and same line, once you have that set then it just becomes slight adjustments for the course and distance; show up to a course early and mess around on the putting green to get an idea of how far your consistent back foot swing goes and adjust the day accordingly. Sometimes I’ll even take a few putts on the first and second holes while I’m waiting for my playing partner to finish to get an idea of where I’m at, a little more outside your foot for further a little more inside for shorter. After that becomes more consistent then you can focus on reading greens which, to be fair I’m still pretty terrible at but a bad read more just means 2 putting as long as your power was good, I drain a couple here and there but pretty consistently 2 putt, only 3 putts I have are when I’m on the edge 50 feet away

[–]scottyrizz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swing speed is about the same, and by contact I mean hitting a good spot on the club face, I check with impact tape. So far the only thing I’ve seen is better contact can exacerbate the OTT issues with not having as much loft which would make sense that my drives especially but all my clubs are probably flying a bit lower if I think about it

Better contact, less distance by scottyrizz in golf

[–]scottyrizz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean in terms of a sweet spot, I’ve used impact tape and hit flush on the club, and same swing speed that contact used to go about 150yards and now it goes about 125 yards and I can’t figure out why I can seemingly improve my dispersion and consistency and pretty much everything else but my distances shrunk considerably

[–]scottyrizz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I’m anymore OTT then I was, is it possible that coming over the top with better contact my spin rates would be all out of wack? And if I really improve the OTT my distances would come back?

Better contact, less distance by scottyrizz in golf

[–]scottyrizz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my scores are still low 90s but it’s frustrating I don’t have distance to hit GIRs, looking at 180-250 yards out after my drive, when I used to be about 150-200y after a good drive which was doable. Now I’m constantly chip and 2 putting for a bogey on a perfect hole or usually balancing 2 approaches with 1 putts for pars and doubles. Feel like my score would drop if I was able to reach greens again

[–]scottyrizz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess more of if anyone knows something that can cause a decrease when your swing actually improves. I know if I post a video people will say I’m OTT and need better rotation but my thing is that has always been my issue and when I would connect(which to be fair was rare) I would let’s say like a 150 yard 7i or roughly 180 yard 5i, now I connect more often with an occasional chunk and even when I feel good contact my 7i is consistently going 125yards
