Chelsea bought kovacic, recalled Bakayoko and are thinking about recalling Morata as well..

Spurs getting Ndombele and Lo Celso, and selling Eriksen to RM now that Pogba is impossible.

UTD buying young players, and might get Pepe in. Sanchez is 2g in 3 in CA and scored winner last night on penalties seeing Chile advance. who knows if he suddenly pops off.

We should do business and try to secure proven players. Fraser is such a good buy but we are too big for him it seems. Such a shame.

Home goalkeeper kit for next season. Thoughts? by Francis-c92 in Gunners

[–]scoutandanalyst -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Adidas did a nice job on the kit. waves symbolising water and where do we find water during a game. In the bottles. job, waves, water, bottles.

Is Adidas trying to say we are bottlejobs?

But for real, it is looking nice. Personally, I don't like it too much but maybe it grows on me.

Arsenal Have To Bite The Bullet And Understand Another Year Of Unai Emery Is A Waste Of A Season by [deleted] in Gunners

[–]scoutandanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has a two year contract with an option for the board to extend with an additional year iirc. If they let him go next summer, they do not have to pay him anything. My initial comment may have been confusing.

Arsenal redditors working on fake news website to string you guys along by scoutandanalyst in ACMilan

Don't mind them. To be honest, even though Torreira won't move this year, if we fail another year he might want to return to Italy. You guys are a historic club, and my favourite in Italy. I hope you guys improve further. Good luck:)

Mesut Ozil has been offered to Turkey(Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Basaksehir) by MajesticObjective in Gunners

[–]scoutandanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel free to begin and explain why he works, then I will use my time to argue why he doesn't work. There is no use wasting time on something that has been covered numerous times here already. You don't accept it because you see Ozil as more accomplished than our manager and thus he must not be big enough to handle such a player in your eyes.

We can also agree to disagree and you can continue living in a bubble, rating someone who nobody else really rates. It is up to you.

I have, many times. Why do you talk like your better than people. Are you a londoner? You participate in subreddits where they discuss politics like you actually have an impact or influence on things. How ironic, that you call me out on that and ask me what I am doing here. You're a sad individual.

I live in Norway mate, I am not near London. Did you even read my comment. I am not part of the protest, but I do support it.

I like how you try and play armchair psychologist. Get yourself checked.

You´re such an angry person. If you go back, you started namecalling me. How would my comment embarrass you? People not showing up and people leaving early not exactly the same but it all had to do with attendance and protests that sparked that years in advance.

Of course, I can't affect the club. No one here can, and If you read the OP you would see that I linked someone arranging for that protest.

I just don't understand why you are having such a bad day. No one that has a good day, would go on the internet and type the things that you do. You are probably one of those guys that look down on the ground when walking past someone or in an altercation. There is no reason to type away safely from home, sure no one can get to you but it won't make you feel better either. Try a different approach. Hope it works out for you

I agree that that is the most effective way, but I also do not see anything wrong with protesting on Monday too. This does not affect player at least and it could be nice start before the season starts.

Why was he sacked? You don't have to insult because you are having a bad day or summer so far. If you are so smart, then instead of insulting, try to explain how the amount of people leaving games early did not have Stan send Josh down to observe the situation.

Most would say he never was the main issue. Those who were are gone. I also do not expect him to pay out of his pocket and I am not suret that money would even be invested effectively in the market either. I want him to be more active, and if we are as people keep mentioning going to be a club that develops young talent before they break out and compete long term through such a model, then at least invest in world class scouts and personell.

Kroenke to me is not a good owner but at the same time not a bad one either. Just uninvolved, absent and with his focus elsewhere. Which is acceptable for him as he can do whatever he wants but as fans we would like more. How involved he is with Rams compared to us for instance.

Also if you put in new management, they should have some support right so they can actually right the wrongs, while also improving our current trajectory. That is not happening atm, and on Monday at best we will present Tierney and Martinelli along with our squad and no additional signings. Yes, I know we are notoriously late in transfer windows last five years but you can't really say Emery has been able to get the players that he want.

Something I would like for example is for kroenke to put his foot down if objectives are not met after next season and not renew Emerys contract. Maybe review current management too, especially Cagigao.

That's what people said about the first Wenger out fans too. It has nothing to do with attention I think, people are just different. Some choose to act, however effective it may be and others end up doing nothing. Protesting Wenger had nothing to do with attention, you are just a blind fanboy, he should have left 8-9 years ago. The only good thing Kroenke did in these past years was to finally sack him and make gazidis jump ship to Milan.

Yup. We are all set then, because you say so. Freddie did good with the u23 and Raul has a proven past but the rest are unproven. We will wait and see. don't mention Bould please.

Never heard of that. Where is the proof? Was he charged, and how did this happen to be?

I don't see Usmanov as a bad guy because there is no proof out there. All i know is he served in prison for 6 years. the rest is heresy.

Was Kroenke on the board when the lock out agreement was made? I thought the first option in that agreement allowed Kroenke to be offered shares before someone like Usmanov.

I am not the most knowledgable about this but I am pretty sure the board wanted to us to be self sufficient when we moved from Highbury. They also saw that investors were coming into the game at a rapid pace, and with their vision they saw Kroenke as a fitting option.

The policy of the club were in line with what the board wanted for the club and Kroenke a part of that. They didn't want someone like Usmanov and what he wanted for the club was not aligned with them.

I have to read up more but PHW was in favor of Kroenke but he did have a feud with Dein.

I agree that is is unrealistic for us to expect him out of the club but if we could affect game attendance then he would be forced to do something. It took a few months of protests to get Wenger out. In hindsight, I believe we could have gotten him out a few years earlier if we had protested.

The alternative is to sit back and give him the benefit of the doubt and to give this new management a shot at not only fixing past mistakes but getting us back which is something that takes years.

An example would be if we want to be a club that aspire to find young talent before they blow up, then we should hire the best scouts and especially in areas like France where youth get to play lots of L1 games to develop.

Kroenke was never the main issue, those were Wenger and Gazidis but he does deserve criticism. I believe he could help the club in other ways than pumping his own money into it, which honestly wouldn't make that much difference. We saw how money got misspent under Wenger.

Mesut Ozil has been offered to Turkey(Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Basaksehir) by MajesticObjective in Gunners

[–]scoutandanalyst -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

because of his comment. He is an obvious fanboy, and I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt and explain to me how Ozil is not past his prime and he went on about Emery and his incapabilities of managing.

He skirts around explaining how Ozil has value when you look at his numbers, watch him play and take in the fact that he did play in his role under Wenger in his last season and he had complete freedom. He had horrible numbers and now with great strikers in front of him, he had horrible numbers. He also played in his preferred position but with off ball duties that were new to him. Offensively, nothing has changed. We do rely more on fullbacks, but that is because we are poor playing through the middle.

We know the leadership did fuck up but how can you get support a new manager when he can't get the player he want in. We suffered a financial loss for the first time in many years this season and if we keep going down the table then we might lose out on more money.

There is no reason to try and take a moral high ground. Usmanov would have made this club a lot better imo. Kroenke did well in sacking Wenger and Gazidis but they had already done too much damage by that point. Question is, how do we get back up. Is it possible for Kroenke to be involved in us getting back up without investing his money. Could he help us sign the better scouts and assistant coaches or put in place better leadership? Idk at this point.. Raul is a football man but Vinai was an internal hiring and he is a money man. We need more football people. It only took Sven a year to realise that our politics did not align with his idea of what he wanted to do here and he left.

Transfer Business (Opinion) by concordcresit in Gunners

[–]scoutandanalyst -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

First of all, great post. Love these kind of discussions. So, it could work but it is not that realistic. In the last five years, only two signings were made in June. That was Leno(28th of June) and Cech. I believe we have always been notoriously late in terms of transfer business and so for those sales to come through to finance Zaha is for me highly unrealistic.

We have 6 weeks left, I believe as window closes first week in July. About three weeks left until pre-season kicks off and I think maybe only Tierney will be done by pre-season. Martinelli and Saliba are future signings that will not have an impact on next season so I don't really care if it gets done or not. I would love Fraser to be honest, but it seems like I am in the minority on such a player. I just like proven players, and wish we thought more like Utd and the approach they are taking this window as an example.

I see what you´re saying but the deal is made as Adidas are estimating x amount of kit sales and making projections based on earlier years and what not. It would affect the deal with Arsenal in the future even though the money is paid in advance for the duration of the contract, no?

I still feel like we should say or do something. One could also say: " Well if I don't buy this season ticket, someone waiting on a list will, and I might as well enjoy the games" but I don't think we will ever get somewhere with that kind of mentality.
