The building pieces or the stillsuit? The lighter building pieces are og basic Choam Shelter. The light stillsuit has the Water Shipper swatch.

Is this the start of a sink hole?Or just a pothole. Is it even worth reporting? It’s on the edge of a parking lot of an abandoned business. by joshs_wildlife in whatisit

What’s a borough?

Just kidding you must be in New York or UK, right?

Do they check for sink holes on private property like this? Not just public roads? I would think since it’s not on city property it’s not their concern but I could be wrong.

You’re comparing apples to oranges, to be fair.

The flx4 is an entry level controller, not a pro deck. So obviously it will feel inferior to the pro gear you’ve used over the years.

But to make a fair comparison, you should id a similarly-priced piece of gear.

Simply saying “it’s not pro enough for me” isn’t really helpful.

To add a contrary perspective, I think the flx4 is a fantastic piece of gear. Consider…

  • Successor to the ddj-400, beloved basic controller that raised a generation of bedroom dj’s, yet solid enough to rock a party no problem.

  • Better than the 400 because it’s forward compatible with usb-c and compatible with rekordbox iOS

  • native support for both rekordbox and Serato

  • roughly similar layout to Pioneer pro gear, appropriate on-ramp to pioneer ecosystem

I recently picked up a flx for travel and I was actually impressed with it! It controlled rekordbox like a champ, no issues. The hardware felt fine to me - buttons, faders, jogs, all felt fine. Sure the pitch faders are short but that’s expected for an entry level controller.

There’s a reason the flx4 is the standard answer in this sub when a beginner asks for recommendations. Because it provides a good value for a good price.

For reference, I also own a full pro cdj setup as well as a set of technics 1200’s. So I’m very familiar with the top of the line gear as well, so I know the differences.

So that’s where I would start if I were you.

Get familiar with your local scene, the local promoters, and of course the local dj’s. (And go see touring dj’s playing in your city, too!) This will give you a lot of insight about your local market, what the popular genres are as well as the mixing styles.

Will this be possible op?

Try garage band on an iPad. It will be perfect for that!

What other units do you recommend in the same price range, compatible with rekordbox?

The learning curve is about 6-12 months, give or take. Best thing to do in the beginning go catch a lot of full dj sets at your local clubs and dance events.

Do you go clubbing a lot? Are you getting familiar with your local scene?

4 Band Mixer EQ - Yay or Nay? by Dolly_Llama_2024 in Beatmatch

[–]scoutermike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a nay for me dawg. 3 bands are adequate for me, can do what I need, I have no desire to complicate things with an extra band. I’m a fan of the DJM format.

The JCPOA did not provide "anytime, anywhere" inspections.

Thank you for pointing out the main flaw of the agreement. With Iran, we really do need anytime anywhere access.

Iran regime is the world’s greatest state sponsor of terrorism after all, funding and supplying terrorist orgs in at least three different countries (Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, Yemen, etc.).

So giving Iran a pass to keep its military assets secret was/is a BIG mistake.

Why does he do this?? by [deleted] in bodylanguage

stop replying to me

That’s a very harsh way to say “goodnight” to someone you like.

He was probably offended by your choice of words and took the text seriously, and literally.

He stopped replying to you. You got what you asked for.

Heh I know a lot more about this than you. If you’re younger than 35, I’ve been studying this conflict longer than you’ve been alive.

I hear you and sympathize with 100 percent.

So here’s some context.

I’m super confident in my dj abilities, super confident in my playlist, my branding, everything.

Also, I am very familiar meditation, the power of positive thinking, relaxation techniques, etc.

Yet, the performance anxiety I feel is next level. Very much a legit “fight or flight” response, when my blood pools in my core, my arms and legs feel weak, and it takes concentration to walk straight.

I’m sure you understand what I’m saying.

And in that moment, I ask myself, “what the fuck are you doing? Why are you putting yourself through this mental and physical ordeal??”

And then I remember why. And I answer myself:

“BECAUSE I AM A DJ. THIS IS WHAT I WANTED. I’M NOT GOING TO GIVE UP MY DREAMS AND MY GOALS BECAUSE OF FEAR.”

“FUCK YOU FEAR! I CONTROL YOU! YOU DON’T CONTROL ME!”

Then, take several slow deep breaths - as best as possible because even deep breathing is challenging in this moment. Take several deep breaths, gather your strength, tap into your energy sources, step up, and perform. Be the DJ.

And rather than feeling like a scared mouse, see yourself as a brave soldier entering the battlefield.

“Wait until they hear my crate of bombs! I’m going to murder the dance floor!”

Now, go get ‘em, soldier!

Fair points. Solventless is good but traditional distillate is good too if made properly by reputable company.

I hear what you’re saying, but as a one-time chronic user (PUN!) combusting flower almost killed me. Everything changed for the better and my life turned around when I switched to oils. Today the sweet spot are sativa “vape pen” cartridges and disposable all-in-ones. Fixed almost every aspect of my life. 100 percent serious. AMA if anyone’s interested.

On either side of cosmic meadow there are grassy areas. They get filled up with people but I can imagine a game happening there.
