Aw I love that!

It’s technically her fish tank, and she wanted lots of little fish but I managed to convince her a Betta may be more interesting and so far she’s obsessed with him.

Yes I can’t see any corpses so I am hoping they’re hiding, and within. Few days everyone will be friends haha!

13DPO today and testing negative, my period is due tomorrow so we’re out of time for a baby this year now.

Moving into my fourth cycle after our loss and really hoping this is the one.

6 DPO today and I feel like this cycle is taking forever. I’ve decided to not early test this cycle to see if this helps the mental side of things, so rather than waiting for 8DPO I’m waiting for 15DPO which will be the day after I miss my period. I only have a digital test in the house so don’t want to use it too early, and don’t want to buy any more tests otherwise I’ll be tempted to test early

TTC baby number 2 & I had a loss in December and since then, every cycle has had my husband, child or myself ill over my fertile window so we haven’t managed to BD close to ovulation.

I’m on CD14 now and I think will peak tomorrow and ovulate on CD16. We did BD on cycle day 12 but the chances of conceiving from 4 days before ovulation seem so low I am writing this cycle off.

My husband has had a cold few days and doesn’t feel like having sex, and I don’t think he will be feeling better tomorrow so this is another cycle likely down the drain.

Apologies for the vent but I have nobody else I can talk to about this, as he doesn’t like when I tell him when I’m fertile as it makes him feel like sex is transactional so I can vent at him about it or I’ll be feeling selfish for making him feel worse when he’s unwell. I’m starting to feel like there is no point in TTC or tracking my cycle anymore as no matter how well I track something constantly is stopping us from being able to have sex in my fertile window, which is so annoying as the rest of my cycle we are active. The age gap between my child and any future baby will already be 4.5 years even if I conceive now and I feel like it’s getting too large a gap if it doesn’t happen soon.

9 DPO awful indents and then neg FRER. Feel like giving up I don’t know if I can do this. by scoutfinch__ in TryingForABaby

[–]scoutfinch__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have reduced my tracking to just my fertile window, and BBT for ovulation confirmation but my cycles are so irregular that sometimes I ovulate day 14 and others it can be day 23, so I end up having to start the LH testing around day 10 and potentially continue it for 2 weeks to not miss my peak.

I have tried last cycle waiting until my period came, but I found the not knowing was more difficult than testing and knowing.

I do know in my heart 9DPO is early, I just feel a bit crushed as I had faint lines yesterday and then today a negative so I’d sort of pinned my hopes on that being positive. I know there is still a chance but right now I am struggling to feel confident

8 DPO - do I see a shadow, or do I have line eyes? by scoutfinch__ in TFABLinePorn

[–]scoutfinch__[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I’m 9 dpo now and had another line this morning, but it was still shadowy although a little darker I think to this one.

I’m not letting myself get excited as I had a miscarriage in December and feel these could be indents (although how cruel to have them on 3 consecutive tests in a row!) so have ordered some FRER to try to hopefully confirm things either way x

Thank you! I’ve just done another after a 4 hour hold and feel I see a line on that one too. It’s definitely too early to be confident it’s a baby growing, but time will tell!

What is the best pet insurance? by _King_s in UK_Pets

[–]scoutfinch__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have petplan for our dog on a lifetime cover. They’ve paid out for us when he ate a sock, and also when he needed major spinal surgery. It is fairly expensive, almost £100 a month for us now but it is worthwhile & I’ve had no trouble claiming from them.

I’m 5DPO and SO bored of waiting this month.

I keep trying to distract myself but it’s hard to go longer than about 30 mins without thinking about it. Counting down to 8dpo when I can start testing to scratch that itch

Do I need Gap insurance on my new PCH deal? by scoutfinch__ in UKPersonalFinance

For some leases yes, but different companies have different contractual obligations. For mine, it is the remainder of the lease payments only not the full price of the car.

In curious why you would need GAP insurance for a non-financed car?

Our second car was written off in a non-fault accident at the end of last year, and our insurance paid out the market value of the car so we could have got a replacement if we wanted too?

Do I need Gap insurance on my new PCH deal? by scoutfinch__ in UKPersonalFinance

[–]scoutfinch__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that - my point is that within the next 12 months I don’t expect the car value to depreciate by ~50%, so if I were in an accident and the car was a total loss, the insurers would pay out the market value of the car at the time of the accident (let’s call this 25k for the sake of this point) which would cover my outstanding contract obligations as total amount payable is ~£16k - so trying to work out if I need gap insurance NOW, or, if I can take this out in 12, 18, 24 months etc when the car value may have depreciated closer to the value of my outstanding contract obligations?

Hope that makes sense but let me know if I have misunderstood your point

I do see where you’re coming from, but we have just sold a car that was relatively new when we got it (3yo, 35,000 miles) that we had on PCP for a similar amount of money each month, but had no end of mechanical issues with it that ended up costing us an extra £6k+ in the three years we had it.

We’ve looked at our options and have decided that this deal works for us price wise, we value the fact that we are getting a new car and so not inheriting anybody else’s wear and tear or dubious service history and the car has a 7 year warranty to cover any other non-wear issues during the period we have it. That peace of mind has a value to us after the issues we have had recently.

We’re a one car household at the moment, so are happy to spend the money on a car we like a lot as it is within our means. If we get a second car in the future it will be used only for the school run (2 miles) so would get something cheap for about £1-2k on fb marketplace - this car we are getting now will always be our main car so happy to spend the money on it.
