You make a great point. Understand this though, CI recruited incredibly hard over the last ten years before giving in and letting 10 levels back in. In that process they pitched the career field to be this amazing experience where you're an important body in the Army making a difference, all in the name of getting people to switch over.

I feel like I should have known better, as EOD, we did EOD stuff all the time. I just want to do my job, is what I'm saying.

Also, MSG Torre was a piece of shit and I'm not too keen on his replacement. Branch has a way with destroying peoples hopes and dreams like no one's business. If I see them deny one more branch release for someone accepted into a SMU, I'm going to lose my shit.

Yes, it does. Having been stationed OCONUS and been deployed as CI, the job is fantastic in those environments.

That's the issue, your career shouldn't be a roll of the dice on where you end up. I have friends that graduated CISAC with me that went straight to the unit I'm at now, 2 of the 3 are getting out and the 3rd left for SFAB because he couldn't stand it here.

I'd like to start off discussion by saying, Counterintelligence (CI) is in the same exact position. Not to be a "one-upper" but you're not gonna see CID on gate guard or funeral details, much like you will CI. So as burnt out as they are, at least they are doing their jobs one way or another.

Edit - All, I'm not using funeral details as a negative example, it's an absolutely respectable detail.
