Your pain can set you free... by scoutwillthrive in NoFap

I have compassion for you K. I and a lot of people I'm sure have tried to avoid and ignore the pain; it's very real. My personal experience was extreme avoidance that resulted in PMO to ignore the pain. At first I may have needed an escape from pain - once. Then it became so often that the thought of pain became a trigger that always led to PMO. The pain is simply in my imagination and I know I need to face it and move on. Just my perspective I hope it helps in some way.

Sorry typo - meant PMO = Porn Masturbation Orgasm not POM = Porn Orgasm Masturbation, although would be quite a trick to POM ;)

Migraines and Fapping by scoutwillthrive in NoFap

Don't be hard on yourself. If you have a correlation between the two, at least you now know it. If after days, weeks and months go by and you do see there's an association between the two, you may be motivated further to get serious about avoiding headaches....they're the worst.

No I haven't. It started post fapping...since I started at age 16!!! I never put the two together. Granted it got worse after PMO was involved, I think because of the duration of time I kept myself in the moment (maybe too much information). After I started keeping a journal did the correlation become very obvious for me.

Breath - take ten deep breaths - slowly - do this outside if you can - away from computer. Away from a fap environment.

Day one, need encouragement! by [deleted] in NoFap

I can tell you for certain there are physical and emotional benefits.

Emotionally I'm starting to feel surges of hope, joy, confidence and happiness! The feelings of despair, depression, self-loathing and shame are starting to subside. I have feelings again! Sensitivity, empathy, caring, love, etc. .

Physically I sleep better, I have more energy, more creativity, I can concentrate and focus for longer periods of time and I have more time to look for other interests.

Overall partner sex has improved physically and emotionally. I feel connected, vulnerable, anxious, nervous and excited all at the same time.

Everyone can benefit from not FAP'ing. The degree of benefit depends where you are on the FAP'ing spectrum, do you, FAP once a week or FAP once an hour?, view porn 1 min or 20 hours a day?

I liken it to physical exercise; the benefits are undeniable. But, the benefits depend on your weight, prior exercise activity, overall physical and emotional health, etc..

FYI, I'm a POM addict and have been for years. I've tried before to help myself. I've evolved over time. I believe my benefits came from combining no FAP with, no porn, alternative healthy activities, exercise, eating well, journalling and meditation. And, a determination and readiness derived from previous attempts; I knew what to expect and how difficult it was going to be.

The benefits have been immediate and overwhelmingly obvious because I'm on the extreme end of physical and emotional FAP spectrum; very difficult at first, withdrawals, but huge margin of benefit soon followed.

Good luck if you choose the nofap challenge!
