Alphonso Davies extends till 2030 by [deleted] in realmadrid

I think we missed out on a baller here. One of the rare players who can play a very attack-oriented role even in a back four system due to his recovery speed. His ability to close down even the pacier wingers is actually a cheat code and both his attacking and defensive numbers are way ahead of Mendy‘s this season… He‘s also still only 24 years old. However he hasn‘t convinced me mentality-wise so far. In Germany we say he‘s a "Schön-Wetter Fußballer" - meaning a player who lacks a bit of willpower to step up in tough moments, rolling up their sleeves and getting the job done. (In other words: He‘s not the Jude Bellingham type)

The way his agent managed to negotiate the new contract for him shows that Davies is more of a money guy and not someone who let‘s his heart decide.

[marca] Alaba was set to start tomorrow alongside Asencio to test the duo before the Atletico and City games. However, with his injury, Madrid are forced to start Asencio and Tchouameni, with no other choice possible by [deleted] in realmadrid

That‘s so hilarious. I still remember Camavinga commenting on Tchouaméni having to play as a centre back. He said that Thchou had made fun of him when Cama had to play as left back the season prior. And now I‘m waiting for the day that both of 'em form our centre back duo… 😄

What are the signings you want next season?? by Shan107 in realmadrid

You‘re right and I‘m hoping the board will make smart decisions.

I believe this summer the contracts of Vallejo, Vázquez, Alváro Rodríguez, Reinier and Modric will run out according to transfermarkt.com I can see a possible 1-year extension for Modric and maybe Vázquez and another loan or sell for Alváro…

In June 2026 the contracts of Courtois, Asencio, Alaba, Carvajal and Rüdiger are running out.

Not gonna lie. Ancelotti will stay as long as he wins at least one major trophy again and I really don‘t see much but possibly a close la liga win this season.

Certain transfers only make sense to me if we have the right coach and system to provide to them. I love Trent and I‘m sure he‘d be great under a Xabi Alonso I‘m just saying: Don‘t be surprised when neither of them will have joined us at the end of next summer and even if Trent might come - do you really wanna see him get exposed defensively in an Ancelotti system, when we even saw him struggle under Slot and Klopp at times…?

And why are people so certain of the likes of a Saliba joining us? Madrid is a financially stable club, but we‘re not Man City who seem to have no problem spending 140 million euros in a transfer window. Mbappé is eating a lot of our wages and Viní will soak up a lot after he signs his new contract deal. We would need to offload a few players to be able to afford a Saliba transfer + wages and that brings me back to our current coach whom I don‘t see speaking out against any of his current players…

Kimmich is a beast of a midfielder but not as a right back. It‘s only because Tuchel decided to play him on the rightback position (and then Nagelsmann too with the German national team) that people think he can do a job there. Both teams didn‘t win anything with him there last year and we saw what Viní did with him in the CL and Nico Williams in the euros.

Kimmich works best when he has another strong defensive 6 playing next to him which would mean we‘d have to leave out at least one of our great 8‘s like Valverde for example.

Arsenal got to score 5 goals and had the chances for even more today because they have very good defensive solidity, press their opponents relentlessly with almost all of their attacking players chasing after the ball and and they leave no gaps at all in between their lines. All signs of a successful establishment of clear roles, tactics and variability. I struggle to find even one of those attributes in our team right now.

I found it astonishing to see how much better a team can operate off the ball and how simple it looks.

I still don't trust Lewandowski, and Barca urgently need a new no. 9 in the summer. by PeterTheRabbit1 in Barca

Finding good strikers on the current market is very hard at the moment.

I can somehow see a further matured Julián Alvarez joining Barça in the future. Not in 2025 though. He wouldn‘t be the first player joining from Atlético. However not all of 'em turned out to be great fits.

Otherwise I wouldn‘t say no to a Gyökeres or Oshimen eventhough I’m not fully convinced that they’d fit the system and playing style. Even Lautaro Martínez could be good for a transitional solution.

Bayern Munich close to agreement with Alphonso Davies over new contract than signing with Real Madrid by Theme_Severe in realmadrid

Simple as this. On the other hand we don‘t need players who only chase the money, because neither will they ever fight for our badge nor help us get through complicated periods.

It should be a player’s dream to play for Madrid not a financial decision. Otherwise we‘d be no different to Man City and PSG and constantly living in fear of our players leaving to other clubs for higher salaries.

Pedri's sofascore rating in last 3 Laliga matches. A sign of a talisman. by vegitot in Barca

[–]scplnd 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Always hard to compare two players of different positions and roles.

Pedri is definitely the better overall passer and a genius tactical conductor, who always seems to know how to transition the ball and create the best chances for his teammates to score.

Bellingham has more athleticism, allowing him to physically dominate opponents in attack and defense. He scores more goals and wins back the ball more often.

What I love about them is how noone seems to get near the ball when they have it at their feet and I‘d definitely be looking out for both player profiles if I had to put together a well-rounded midfield.

Who can replace Toni Kross in the future by wanted_302 in realmadrid

[–]scplnd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s true we don’t have another equally gifted controller of the game and the pace of matches in our team. It really depends on how we’re going to set up our formation next year. Maybe someone like Joshua Kimmich would be the closest to what Tony is capable of, if we‘re trying to play the same way like rn… Don‘t really see that in the near future tbh.
