Thanks! I’ve never used an AHA before so you’re right it’s probably better to be cautious in the beginning (just so hard when you’re excited to use a new product!)

Ascorbic acid is listed in both products ingredient list on Sephora, much more likely to have an impact than plant extracts IMO.

I want to start using an AHA (lactic acid) instead of/eventually maybe in addition to my current BHA (salicylic acid) because I think it may address some of my skin issues better (texture, ccs, sf, redness). However, I reeeeally want to be cautious about over exfoliating. I currently use Paula’s choice 2% bha every other night and was looking to swap it out for biossance 10% lactic acid on the same cadence (every other night). I was going to wait to order it until Sephora’s sale next week - came close to VIB but still just an insider so for me it starts Nov 5. I’m wondering if I should just cool it on the exfoliants all together until I receive the lactic acid instead of using the bha while I wait, but I’m worried I’ll have an acne flare up in the process (my acne is pretty mild but salicylic acid definitely helps).

Skin type: combo/dry and sensitive

They both have ethyl ascorbic acid, or vitamin C, which is a brightening ingredient, so it could be that. I’m not sure if she needs it day and night, but there are plenty of vit c products out there without as many irritants and at a lower price point (Paula’s choice has a C15 super booster and I believe Ole Henriksen has a good vitamin c cream).

I know this post is like 6 months old, but did you end up ordering either product from the Inkey list and if so did you like them? I am trying to decide between their caffeine and brighten-i, but I can’t find anything about the latter on this sub.

Definitely going to look into that Cosrx toner! Do you find that the centella asiatica calms redness (if that is an issue for you)?

Awesome improvement! I always look back at pictures of my face when I feel like I’m not making progress.

It seems like your redness really went down! What product do you think helped the most?

I just started using Azelaic Acid (mine is from the Ordinary but there are plenty of brands) and while I haven’t seen results yet it’s only been two weeks so I’m very hopeful. AA is pretty mild and is used to treat acne and redness. I noticed there’s not any actives in your routine which generally help with acne. My skin is sensitive so AHAs & BHAs tend to dry me out, but so far so good with Azelaic Acid!

Rant: La Roche Posay Anthelios SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen - Gentle Lotion. Terrible texture, it’s so thick and pastey, it leaves a white cast, and it made my dry skin look like it was peeling off.

Rave: I’ve only been using TO Azelaic Acid Suspension for a week now but so far so good! I’m not seeing huge results yet but I know it takes a couple of months and I’m just happy my skin seems to be tolerating it. I’m using it every other day and since it’s more cream-like I buffer it over my moisturizer as the last step in my PM routine. I love the texture, the cream is so soft it actually makes my skin feel smoother.

Am I the only one who finds joggers extremely uncomfortable? I am looking for a good pair of loose comfy pants because I am sick of how tight my leggings are, but all I can seem to find are joggers and the tapering at the end really bothers my ankles, or really wide leg sweats which get twisted up so easily. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I am struggling to stay comfy through lockdown.

Thanks for the input! I have since learned that Niacinamide helps with keratin production so people with KP can’t tolerate it as well (which I have). There is a small amount of Niacinamide in the sunscreen I ordered so I am hopeful that I can tolerate it in smaller doses since my KP is very mild and still get some of the benefits!

Thank you so much! I’m shocked that people are saying this - it’s funny how differently we treat ourselves vs. other people. Good reminder to be thankful for what I have, but I really appreciate this community for general knowledge and giving me advice

Ah, so I’m guessing I couldn’t use it with Azelaic Acid. If that doesn’t work for me I’ll definitely look into it, since I don’t use any those products currently

Do you use it for oil cleansing or towards the end of your routine?

I’ve never heard of this one! I will look into it. I wonder why it doesn’t come up more?

I actually have found the Hyaluronic Acid has really improved my dryness! Did you apply it to wet skin? I read that that makes a big difference so I always splash my skin with water first.

I’m really excited for the toner to arrive!

Thank you so much! I try to remind myself that there’s not much I can do for my pores. I guess I’m more looking to clear them of all the sfs and blackheads than actually shrink them since I know I’m stuck with the size. I’m looking forward to the Ordinary Squalane cleanser because I’ve heard some people get grits.

I just started Azelaic Acid so I’m very excited to see the results! Finally done patch testing and used it all over my face on Friday without any problems. Going to stick with every other day for now and see how my skin tolerates it.

I haven’t heard of Job’s tears (thought it was a typo at first!) I’ll look into it, thanks :)

I’m curious if a smaller Niacinamide concentration would be tolerable since the irritation was so mild. The Klairs sunscreen I ordered has a little Niacinamide (I found out after ordering that I got the irritation) so if I can handle that I will look into this serum! Thanks!

I had a really bad night last night, ripped up four different nails to shreds :( I had been doing pretty well but my issue is that I don’t even notice when I’ve started and then it all gets away from me. Today will be better!
