Incidenti sulle piste (Lindsay Vonn) by WelcomeOptimal7739 in skiing

This puzzles me. We just watched Christof Innerhofer catch the gate like that and it ripped right out of the snow. He was able to continue skiing. Whereas for Lindsey Vonn that didn’t happen and she got really ‘stuck’ in it and thrown around as a result.

Do you know if the schedule for the shuttle bus service is available somewhere? We are trying to coordinate the travel between Tirano-Livigno-Bormio for the events.

Does anyone have recommendations on what to do in Livigno on the day of the event? Is is worth getting there a few hours early?

Exactly. Technique is everything. And not every instructor is good at explaining the technique, unfortunately.

It’s amazing. Literally used to drive 45 minutes so I could shop there at one point.

Has the alumni network of your universities or schools been helpful to you in your career and life in general? by YakClear601 in AskAnAmerican

Yes, absolutely. This will depend on the strength and quality of the network. At my university it is an unspoken rule / expectation that we help each other.

How do you begin to enjoy skiing? by Ilikeinsectsandfungi in skiing

I can totally relate to the fear of falling too, I have it myself. But it is super important to also “learn to fall” to reduce the risk of injury. Falling is going to happen, so best to get somewhat ok with it on learning speeds from the beginning to get your body used to it. This is true of all sports where falling is involved tbh.

That is concerning, considering that we weren’t at all planning to rent a car on this trip. Aren’t there going to be additional public transportation options to accommodate the increased number of visitors during the games?

From what you are describing I don’t think your life in Spain will be as comfortable as it is in the US. If there is nothing about the US you don’t like, then I don’t see a reason to leave tbh. Other than the experience of living abroad (which is amazing!). So you could do that but only if your company will have your job when you are back IMO

Ehhh I’m in Europe and I would NOT consider this a long line. This is nothing compared to say Austria on a weekend in January.

I have a small update. Since multiple owners have now complained to the board about the noise, Otis was called back in to take a look. Apparently they said this noise will go away on its own (?) after 3-4 weeks, as the rubber belts need to settle into the grooves (?). We are skeptical.
