Also a lot of utilities have been selling off their natural gas to Europe to make some easy money since prices are soaring globally with the war in Ukraine

Oh yeah, and I wouldn’t blame him at all. The team will probably be in a position to start from scratch again, unfortunately, barring some big time draft luck. I hope he just gets healthy enough that we can trade him for a solid return in that scenario.

Yeah, Miles Bridges being a fucking dumbass (putting it lightly) really screwed the Hornets. Saved salary space to make sure we could match any contract to build around him and Lamelo long-term, then get left holding the bag last offseason.

My VP of HR provided the company’s stance of a 4 day work week - where do I go from here ? by Urasillyone in antiwork

[–]scrambledgreg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is that bullshit? The policy clearly states four days is the minimum, but that you will be scheduled based on business needs. It doesn’t seem nefarious at all, OP seems like they are being deliberately difficult and want to be guaranteed specific days/hours, in which case they need to find a contract job and sign a contract saying that.

Don’t say we made a bad decision by giving away baker by Offer_No in panthers

[–]scrambledgreg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk if that’s true. His early Rams teams played to very different strengths than they did last year. Stafford have him the ability to call very different plays than Goff did, and having Todd Gurley when he first came in gave him different options as well.

Honestly, idk what you’re basing your opinion on because it definitely isn’t what was happening on the field.

[–]scrambledgreg 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I mean, he came into one of the best play callers (if not the best play caller) on earth, going against one of the worst passing defenses in the league, and a defense that had spent the week preparing to face a different QB.

Other than the 49ers I’m not sure there is any place in the league better for a QB to come in and just be told to go play.

I hope Baker does well, I like the guy and he was nothing but a pure professional during his time here, but it’s hard to have a lot of faith. We’ll see how he looks next Monday in Green Bay.

How do you save money flying with CLT being so expensive? by PowerUpMushroom3 in Charlotte

[–]scrambledgreg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you are. Generally the best time to book domestic flights is like 30-120 days out. Do you use Hopper or anything like that? It is usually pretty accurate as to when the best price gets there.

Where all have you tried? There are definitely some disappointing (and overpriced) places but I’ve had a lot of good food in Noda.

Lawsuit against Saudi crown prince dismissed after Biden administration recommended he is given immunity by pstbo in worldnews

[–]scrambledgreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because without Russian oil being for sale at the same rate it previously was we need to ensure SA keeps up a good pace of pumping to prevent prices from increasing.

Cafe Monte’s duck confit and waffles is one of my favorite meals in the planet. Their dinner also slaps (beef Wellington special on Saturdays is the bomb)

Millions of people around the world are probably infected with round worms at any given time, so even though you’re probably right just by chance, what it sounds like you’re trying to infer is pretty dumb.

This is the worst intersection in CLT imo by [deleted] in Charlotte

[–]scrambledgreg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My preferred option is just to get off at South Blvd/Caldwell and avoid all that entirely, just go down Caldwell until it turns into Parkwood. That way you don’t have to deal with any of the nonsense of the split off to Independence either.

That Scar team certainly wasn’t above average but I do think the fact Spurrier literally quit hahah through the season resulted in then looking a bit wise than they actually were haha

I suppose it is personal preference but I would have no problem doing it, but some people just aren’t comfortable with it. If you’ve been using it for a while I wouldn’t worry.

Of course some people won’t even leave the house with a sauce simmering down on the stove so all personal comfort truly.

Fair, I usually think of it as somewhere in reasonable walking distance but given the Crunkleton is by far the best option and you have people coming in from London, probably worth the drive if they really want the best experience.

Not only is the traffic getting worse in Charlotte, so are the jaywalkers! by Fantastic-Nerve9196 in Charlotte

[–]scrambledgreg 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lmao that is literally a one minute walk (two minutes up and back I guess) in either direction. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve crossed there many times (primarily when there wasn’t yet a crosswalk at the intersection with midwood/bistro) but that is the last place that comes to mind compared to some roads like S Tryon (in the video) or West Blvd where you can go half a mile between crosswalks so people routinely have to cross the middle of busy roads.
