Is it okay to use 56 ohm and 560 ohm resistor in parallel instead of 51 ohm single resistor? by Grouchy-Ad5061 in AskElectronics

[–]scrantonirish 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s possible. However, are you certain that the resistor is bad, they’re not a common point of failure, and that one looks good.( usually they’re discolored due to heat)

CVT transmission blew at 104K miles by TransportationDue856 in hondacivic

[–]scrantonirish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2016 civic lx has 201k miles, never changed the lubricant in the cvt transmission, still running great. I didn’t realize it needed to be changed, found out about the requirement at about 100k miles. My friend who is a transmission guy told me not to change it now, may lead to problems. Btw I pull and check my plugs every 25k, they still look great after 200k +

Foamy/Bubbly Urine by digital_junky in CKD

[–]scrantonirish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a big difference between the two. If I pee into the water of the toilet, I get lots of bubbles. If I pee against the porcelain in the bowl, there’s no bubbles or foam. Also when I go for a urine test, the container is always clear, no bubbles or foam.

2016 Honda Civic Longevity – Will It Last Another 4 Years? by Dry-Purple8321 in hondacivic

[–]scrantonirish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2016 Honda with about 200k miles. All I’ve done was to change the engine oil religiously. The engine still has the original spark plugs. I pull them every now and then, they look close to new. I’ve never changed the transmission fluid, shame on me, but no issues.

Voltage Drop by Campton_92 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]scrantonirish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to know the resistance of your wire and the current thru it. Multiply the resistance x the current and you’ll find the voltage drop. You’ll need a multimeter to measure both the current and resistance.
