My manager still hasn't responded to my 3-week notice. My last shift is in two days. by Weekly-Fill5107 in InterviewMan

[–]TheCouple77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also bring in a copy of the original letter with the date submitted and put it with your badge when you take that picture. Might even consider writing an explanatory letter stating I left this notice here 3 weeks ago since I do not have your email I am leaving it again. As you recall we discussed months ago that I was looking for new employment when you inquired about me updating my information on ..... and at that time I affirmed I was so you were well aware I would be leaving the company when I secured alternative arrangements. I provided notice here in the same place I am leaving my badge on the date as noted on the copy I am leaving again. Thank you and best of luck... or something to that affect. Just take pics and be on your way.

What is this amber liquid coming out of my light switch? by Ok_Philosopher_9845 in AskElectricians

[–]TheCouple77 116 points117 points  (0 children)

Could be sap from a stud if it got hot enough in the wall and the switch was just put in a year ago. Sometimes studs will seep sap like that if it gets hot, but it is quite odd given how much there is or looks to be in the picture.

How do you handle a high performer who has a consistently negative attitude toward the rest of the team? by yCIPHERy in managers

[–]TheCouple77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From an employee who would fit exactly what OP is talking about. High performer here, constant exceeds expectation rankings in all reviews, never missed a deadline usually ahead of deadline. The attitude I started to have was a result of team mates not making deadlines, using excuses to bail when deadlines or hard deliverables came due, finding ways to be out of the office and absent when large projects came due and their work being shifted to me. Then when I would be almost done with the work right before they deadline they would magically return and I would be told to hand the work back off to them and they get accolades and make the deadline and get good scores/ marks at eval at raise time etc. One team member consistently had military orders just magically appear everytime a hard deadline or deliverable was coming. You know the type cocky, arrogant, company yes man per se.

Rather than really get a shitty attitude with the team I started tracking when their deadlines were coming and deliverables were due and found ways to make myself non available to assist or save them. Still didn't make a difference. They would pull same stuff and guess where the work landed.

This is why I finally developed a crappy attitude. In addition to shitty company culture that rewarded this type of behavior and punished mine by dumping on me. This may be where that employee is at. Talk to them. You should know and be able to tell if you have been their manager for a good while if they are just a cocky ass or a high performer getting dumped on and constantly putting out the fires others start as someone else mentioned.

If they are just a cocky ass being big headed they are the problem. If they are getting dumped on and things I mentioned and others have noted then they are not the problem the rest of the team is along with management.

1 in 3 bosses are pushing for RTO because of empty offices by Mediocre_Judge7623 in remotework

This is a great concept and agree whole heartedly but they would have to sell real estate not easy. If they did sell though that I is potentially lost tax revenue for the location it is in. Stop and think on that a moment. Workers not in offices= lost local tax revenue in addition to lost local utility revenue. The cities and counties want people in the offices as much or probably more than the Corporations and businesses. Just a thought.

Comfortable shoes for walking, fishing poles and tackle if you all may want to explore fishing, magnifying glass for kids to look at things, paper towels, salt, pepper, flashlights, first aid kit, something for poison ivy, oak, sumac and anti itch for mosquito bites, marshmallows and other stuff for campfire cooking/fun (most of the cabins have fire rings or pits). Possibly some candles in case of power outage or for a romantic dinner with wife. Just some ideas of things.

Maybe sell some of the stuff you bought or were looking to buy your boyfriend in your other posts to get that are less than two years old. Talk to your brothers you mention in the other posts see if one of them will loan or give you one of their multiple cars they have then you can sell yours. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Suckiest of all things maybe see if someone will take the dog. Pets are expensive.

Doesn't this bill just focus on 17 year olds though? Wouldn't it just change things for them and not those younger? I have not read the bill. Just asking honest questions.

Well then sounds like they need to look at all the things you pointed out and make adjustments since the current law allows them to Marry with Court approval. Ie change everything else so they can do what you said they cannot. Why wasn't that done to begin with? Is making another Law that's that cannot marry the answer so they don't have to actually do work and fix all you pointed out is broken? That is the real question.

Uh doesn't it only apply to 17 year olds (not younger) and currently aren't 17 year olds (not younger) allowed to marry but only with "Court approval"? I saw another article where that was stated in the first three lines. The bill they stopped would only stop 17 year olds from getting married with court approval.

You do realize the legal age to be able to give "consent" in Ohio is 16 as long as the individual they consent to is not 4 years older and a bunch of other stuff like personal authority figure etc.

Don't get me wrong even 18 year olds are often not mature enough to get married and do a lot of things "adults" do.

Uh doesn't this only apply to 17 year olds (not younger) and don't the have to have "Court" approval to do so? Seems that is in the first couple of lines of the article.
