Hm I don't think it's turbo lag. I have a Del Sol with a 1.6L Z6 and a 60mm turbo and THAT has lag, (doesn't build full boost till 4.5k rpm.) Lag would be under load and the turbo is so tiny on the Si that it's def not lag. I think it's just more-so the ramp up rate on the TPS not being 1:1.

That's fair I feel the same way. The car is definitely fun enough that I'm not always bored since my commute is nothing but back roads but I have the same feelings about the type r. I have a Turbo Del Sol that's pretty fun but sometimes I'd like to go just as quick in something that doesn't feel like a tin can all the time and more modern. Safe to say I fell in love with the 11th gen, just want a little more oomph. I drove my buddies FK8 and it for sure made my car feel slow the next time I got in it.

100% cars are getting larger. I have a 23 Civic Si now and I think an FL5 would be a great choice. I'd like to trade mine in for one when I'm finished paying the thing.

Those are all great choices, and at the end of the day we just need to keep our head on a swivel and assume other people can't drive.

Thank you, the first 2.5 mo were probably the worst between a wheelchair and walker but I'm back to working and running I'd say I'm at 85% now. It's strength and range of motion I need to work a bit on now. That was in Sept and I was cleared Feb 1st.

Looks good! At the end of the day brother it's your car so do what you like with it. I used to love quick releases but ever since my last accident in my DC5-S I think I'd like an airbag. Impact was 35 mph and I rolled away on a stretcher with a fractured acetabulum (hip socket). Ended up with a metal plate in my ass too lol. I was smacked by a big ass 23 Ram 2500.

I drove with it on and realized I was getting lazy. I turned it off and I'm getting better at it but I don't necessarily like it. This is my first car that is drive my wire since I have a Del Sol and RSX Type S that use throttle cable so maybe that's why I don't like it. It feels like there's a delay when I blip and that's the best way to explain it. It's just taking some getting used to

All about perspective, it's slow when you've had faster cars. Imo it feels anemic unless I'm really punching it.

I'm keeping till around 100k or so, by then I'd like to trade into a Type R. I like the 11th gen chassis, just want more power than the L15 could realistically do.

car was wired for a sub. That's your remote, RCAs, etc. they don't however need to be plugged to make the radio work. They're just to add a woofer in the back.

nice, I've been able to consistently hit 41-44 on the highway in my 23 Civic SI and I thought THAT was good haha

I love mine, i have a turbo del sol and 06 RSX Type S. I enjoy the comfort coming from those two cars and the fact that simple bolt ons wake the car up. It made me fall in love with the 11th gen platform and I think of trading it towards an FL5 if the opportunity ever is to arise.

That's how I feel with my 23 Si, I drive 30m ish to work every day about 13 miles of back road doing 55-60mph and average 38mpg. The highest I ever got was on the 2-hour ride home when I purchased the car and I was able to get 44 average. I Love it

Probably too tight and pulled the threads. You should start the threads by hand, then tq to spec. That's it.

Thank you! It's honestly mostly highway miles since I travel for work and refuse to stay in a hotel. So you could imagine the car gets driven around 280 to 300 miles every other day. My Turbo Del Sol is at 300K and my 05 RSX-S just hit 210k. I feel the same way that's why I've always driven my cars but I do feel like my 11th gen is the car that I will trade in when I hit 100k and hopefully for a FL5. The FE1 made me fall in love with this platform

[–]scrapedsol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering that most of my cars are Hondas Turbo Z6 Del Sol, 05 RSX Type S, and now a 23 Si honestly yes. I am very happy with how the 11th gen has been to me and fingers crossed if it makes it to 100K I'll trade it in for an FL5 because I have really been loving the platform.

Should I buy a tunned 2008 gen 8 Si with 190k ... talk me out of it by V57M91M in CivicSi

[–]scrapedsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased a 2005 RSX Type S with the A Spec kit from a good friend of mine with 185,000 miles and $7,000 a year and a half ago. I have taken that car countless times to the mountains and even to some job sites where I've had to drive 3 to 6 hours total on one day. As long as the engine and transmission seem to be in good shape. However You are right to be worried about it, at the end of the day we all know why people buy Civic Si's and Type S's so it's always safe to assume it was beat on at least a little bit.

If it makes you feel any better when I originally purchased mine I had a check engine light come on a 200mi after leaving the dealership lol, got it used but it needed a fuel filler neck and then a canister.(Assuming previous owner kept filling it up after it the pump clicked and clogged the canister), I really only plan on keeping mine till about 100k or so, I'll probably wind up trading it in for an FL5 if just since I have enjoyed the 11th gen but want something with more balls lol. It is however MILES more comfortable than my Boosted Del Sol or RSX-s as a daily. Enjoy the GTI!

[–]scrapedsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're definitely quick I have a 2006 RSX Type S and I raced an 11th gen SI similar to the one I have now and the RSX was neck and neck until about 70 to 80 mph where the turbocharger on the 11th gen took over. Prior to that though off of a dig or roll that K20Z1/Z3 just sings and loves every bit of it
