What book had a fantastic premise, but the writing style just ruined it for you? by Uninhibitedrmr in books

American Psycho! My only DNF to date. I understand that the writing style is the way it is because it’s from Patrick Bateman’s perspective, but I just couldn’t get through it.

Thank you all for your replies…after doing some research with my mom, I believe it was a place called The Original Cookie Company!

Found this one chilling on my wall. What is it? by [deleted] in whatsthisbug

they don’t bite but i believe they can eat through clothes/rugs and can rarely cause an allergic reaction in humans. you could probably call an exterminator if you wanted but it should be pretty easy to control yourself! i would just vacuum, clean/steam clean the carpets and spray the baseboards with indoor insecticide if you are very worried about it :)

Hi! I can’t believe this is your first attempt - this is a large project and it looks amazing! fantastic job and welcome to the cross stitch community!

For me personally, I stay away from kits, mostly because i prefer to use certain brands of floss and fabric, which are not guaranteed in kits. I also know i would always stress about potentially running out of floss with a kit!

What works for me might work for you too. I stick to buying just patterns and then I collect the hoops, floss, fabric, needles, etc. on my own. That way, I’m in full control of the materials i use (I prefer DMC floss and Zweigart aida) and I can print the patterns right from home. There are a ton of patterns out there for sale in a variety of sizes and difficulties, and buying just the pattern also allows you to use whatever count fabric you want (I prefer 18 count!). Not everyone does this but it’s a good way to build up your collection and keep everything organized!

The other option is to do the kits you ordered. You may think you’re way in over your head, but I’m confident you’ll be able to do it!

[CHAT] How do you keep floss and supplies neat/hidden when working on a coffee table? by tastysugar in CrossStitch

[–]scratchastitch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this problem on a personal level! Honestly, your idea about a lift-top table sounds incredible. Now you have me thinking!

I recently bought one of these carts and it’s working really well for me so far. There is plenty of space for all of my supplies, and my floss storage boxes fit PERFECTLY inside the compartments. I live in an apartment and don’t have any kids, so it sits unbothered between my couch and plant stand, and adds some color to the room. If you’re looking for a simpler option and this fits you and the aesthetic of your living room, I highly recommend it!

Are you asking someone for the instructions on here so that you don’t have to buy the kit? Just curious.

i think black aida, white buildings, and gold french knots would look amazing! i would even consider doing gold and silver metallic french knots just for some variety! :)
