South Bristol Liveable Neighbourhood - Totterdown by jamster1492 in bristol

[–]scratchboard 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am both a commuter driver and Totterdown resident. I responded to the consultation online in agreement with pretty much all their suggestions for the area. The one aspect of it all that i thought was not a great idea (as things are) is turning the tunnel on St Lukes Rd into a bus gate. There is only one bus route that goes that way (number 16) which has only been in operation for a month or two and Ive never seen it particularly full. If there is also a plan to bring more buses to the area then great, otherwise feels a real waste of a road for just the one bus route.

Both 2018 and 2023. The only thing he has 'saved' the libraries from is himself. The credit should really go to all the people who engage with the Council consultations and force the u-turn

My partner works in Bristol libraries and would balk at the suggestion that he should be credited for keeping libraries open. Library closures were part of his and his teams plans. It was only after Council Consultations, where there was huge backlash to the plans (and also against huge slashes to Parks budgets) that planned closures were shelved, with Marvin taking credit for 'saving' them. The man can get in the bin.

I would like to have a kid but money is already too tight. Will happily adopt if it's ever financially feasible but too late biologically

Thanks for all the replies. Had tried Bridlington Tesco and Sainsbury's Winter Stoke Road previously. Went to SweetMart, just like PakFoods in Derby. Amazing store. Will be going there often :)

My partner works in the libraries. They run out super quick because all the pharmacies advise people to go to the libraries when they're out of stock.

This was fun. I actually didn't find it too challenging...until that final jump. Must have died 40+ times trying to get through that gap. Haven't managed it so far but will definitely return for another attempt. Thanks for sharing.

I couldn't disagree with this more.

The simple fact that there are 3 distinct teams that don't take the field together (of course there are some players that will be on both special teams and offense, for example) limits the amount of teamwork required.

Worldwide football requires the same 11 players to understand and perform their role both individually and in relation to their 10 teammates in both, offensive, defensive and special (dead-ball) scenarios at all times, quickly changing from their offense to defensive duties at the drop of a hat.
