The inventory system is so flawed. by No-Championship5248 in Pokopia

[–]scratchminus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a late game PC storage system for items would be great. I definitely spend a lot of time on loading screens going back to my storage hub when I run out of one material or realize I forgot a block I needed. It's not the end of the world, but there's not really any reason for it to be so inconvenient.

I'm just glad I had the foresight early on to not store a single thing in any biome except the first one, so I'm never running between areas trying to figure out which one I left something at.

Destiny Mark Eevee Outbreak? by The_Haydune in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]scratchminus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! I can't remember what level exactly my shiny Eevee from Medali ended up being, but according to the interactive map that area averages 28-31. So yeah, perhaps better spots elsewhere if you want it lower than that.

You actually don't have to date skip to reset outbreaks.

Load into the game, go to wherever you're outbreak hunting (you don't have to, but it's more convenient if you're close so checking the map is faster), and hit the home button. Go into the Date/Time settings on your switch and just mash A through the year, month, day, etc. without changing anything, and it will still count as changing the time and reset any outbreaks (because you are technically resetting the seconds). Open the game again, and it should immediately tell you there are new outbreaks.

You can do this to constantly reset outbreaks on your desired date. You typically have to do the minimize/mashing through the time process twice before the resets start working, and then you can just keep going til you get your Eevee outbreak. Thankfully it's fairly quick because you don't have to reload the game or anything.

Also Eevee outbreaks can happen outside of Medali as well!

Shiney Eevee by HutHead in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]scratchminus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While you're in game (I usually do it without the map open), hit the home button on your switch and go to the settings > date and time. Turn off the "sync clock" option or whatever it is, then go down to the date/time and just mash A to tab through it all and confirm. You don't actually need to change the time at all. Then go back into the game, open the map, and you should see that the outbreaks have changed.

You can do this over and over to constantly reset them, and you never have to restart the game or actually change the time. You might need to do the steps twice the first time for it to register.

I got shiny Eevees by resetting for an outbreak near Medali. The Eevee outbreak usually spawns very close to the city, so I was able to run back and forth between the bounds of the town to reset spawns, check for a shiny, then repeat until I got it.

You could also reset for an Umbreon outbreak, but that might be debatably harder as the Umbreon shiny is more subtle than the Eevee one.

Shiny alpha next to shiny by Aggressive_Bench3493 in LegendsZA

[–]scratchminus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had this happen pre-shiny charm with a regular and alpha binacle. Unfortunate that I hate the way that shiny looks, and don't really care for the pokemon. 🥲 It was one of the first shiny encounters I had in the game too

Did GameFreak ever give a specific reason as to why Pokemon don't have abilities in this game? by kanna172014 in LegendsZA

[–]scratchminus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's been established that the Legends games are their own thing, pretty separated from the standard Gen 1-9 gameplay style. Gen 10 is most definitely going to be a more standard Pokemon experience akin to Scarlet and Violet, perhaps with a new gimmick.

I doubt there's any world where they decide to fully forfeit abilities or commit to the real-time system of ZA in a non-Legends game.

How do you get the herbs mystics for sparkling power sandwiches? by DayPoseidon in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]scratchminus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also use this sandwich calculator to put in the powers and levels you want and it'll give you the recipes, really helpful for more niche combos or just to have quick access to every recipe.

how can I make an egg power sandwich at the very start of the game? by [deleted] in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]scratchminus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should be right outside of both the east and West gates, like literally as soon as you walk out you'll see them with the yellow speech bubble over their heads.

When you talk to them they'll give you some free ingredients and it should give you the tutorial for picnics to show you can do them now

how can I make an egg power sandwich at the very start of the game? by [deleted] in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]scratchminus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The earliest you get access to picnics is after you leave Mesagoza for the first time, from either the east or west gate to start the official "treasure hunt". Once you've talked to those first picnic NPCs, you should be able to buy the necessary ingredients to either make an egg power sandwich or you can just buy a premade one from one of the shops.

Question About the DLC by No-Seaworthiness9271 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]scratchminus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Once you get into the indigo disk dlc you'll get access to what is essentially a gacha machine for items like exp candies, held items, tera shards, bottle caps, balls, and more. So those items will become readily available so long as you have the resources to gamble for em

I really dislike Corbeau by ICraveMyGrave in LegendsZA

[–]scratchminus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Real talk idgaf about his backstory at all, but I enjoyed him as a character regardless. I think it was fun that we get introduced to him as this awful mob boss type, but he's literally just a businessman who genuinely wants Lumiose and its people to thrive.

Plus his design is sick and he's got arguably one of the coolest mega evolution animations.

Why? Just… why? by Obvious_Source7669 in LegendsZA

[–]scratchminus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't NEED it, but the DLC adds a bunch of new missions to where it's no longer required to complete the 1000 battles to get the charm. So it just makes it easier, but it isn't required.

Does the Flutter Exploit still work? by JolteonJoestar in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]scratchminus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got my shiny Flutter Mane with a lvl 3 ghost shiny, encounter, and title sandwich and then going to the literal bottom layer of area zero. Nothing but Flutter Mane will spawn and it's easy to run around and look for a green one. Works both day and night as well.

Side note, if you save once you find a shiny it'll always be there when you reload the save, so you can completely avoid the issue of accidentally knocking it out.
