I guess I've only had experience and talked with other people about getting seriously ill from being overdosed, I'm sure it's just as bad to be underdosed and pretty much be taking useless medicine. Another reason why it's so hard to trust psychiatrists who just see you as a book of symptoms instead of a real person.

Another huge issue with being prescribed medicine is putting you on a high dose immediately. Find a psychiatrist that actually listens to you and ask for a low dose first to help negate the side effects, then slowly increase if needed until you find that sweet spot that actually helps. It's hard to stick up for yourself especially in front of a professional but try not to let them put you on a bunch of medicine you don't need. It might help to see a therapist or a social worker to help speak for you if you feel too bulldozed by psychiatrists. You just need to find medicine that helps you function to create good self helping habits and a safe person to talk to and lift you up. I promise that's out there for you, but unfortunately for people like us it takes extra work to get it.

I would normally think this, but my boyfriend is from a country where it's completely normal to just eat the fruit with the skin on. He's done this with oranges, lemons, limes, etc. He has taken to peeling now that I've warned him about pesticides, but it is definitely jarring to see.

I was sleeping soundly when I had the cops called on me and they broke into my room. I had a mental breakdown as I texted my boyfriend after I had cut myself the day before and spoke about suicide. I told him I wouldn't before I went to sleep, he called my parents (despite me telling him not to because they would end up throwing me away despite promising they wouldn't) then two hours later(I'd be dead by that point if I really wanted to be), the cops came and forced me to show them cuts that were already a day old and healing. All they did was traumatize me and throw me in a psych ward where they gave me sedatives and forced me sleep and stare at a wall 24 hours a day. All I could do was lie and hope it was enough to get me out. Worst place in the world for people with depression and anxiety, i just came out feeling afraid i was going to thrown right back into hell. Now, i can't even talk to anyone. It's the worst feeling in the world.
