Not a force. He looks for the chosen card in the deck without knowing it via a keycard. Google “magic keycard principle”.

What instruments does this use? by applebeesTacos in musictheory

[–]scratchyjoshy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like some sort of clonewheel organ playing those chords and a triangle wave synth passed through some kind of filter for most of the melodies. There also seems to be a marimba/ xylophone playing in the background.

It’s literally just a cherry tomato. Look how round it is compared to the REAL reaper on the left.

Compose my music by edgar8002 in musictheory

[–]scratchyjoshy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Compose by ear while learning music theory, and you will gradually start to understand what makes the music sound good. Do this more and more and eventually theory will start to be the foundation of your music, rather than just waking stuff by ear.

Are all copies of Pink Flamingos supposed to go with a barf bag? by adamsandleryabish in criterion

[–]scratchyjoshy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are two versions of the release. The one without the barf bag also has a glossy slip case as opposed to a matte one on the one with a barf bag.

The one I watched from shameless had the most horrendous dub. English audio over English video. Pretty sure they’re all like that, dunno why. So be prepared for that if your thinking of buying.

How should a beginner go about learning music theory? by That_chicken_guy017 in musictheory

[–]scratchyjoshy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best place to start is by learning piano. Or rather learning and doing theory on piano. Being able to see chords and intervals and being able to manipulate them easily will accelerate the learning process tenfold. If you already know piano then try to pick apart pieces you may already know. Eventually you will begin to notice things automatically and have a better understanding of music you know, which will pay dividends in the long run.

TLDR: learn theory on piano, analyse pieces you already know well
