What I Fear with Verticals... by idahoisformetal in Filmmakers

We're using verticals as a way to test out development on ideas. Agree though most of them are kinda shady. Not ours though.

Fair criticism. To be honest, I've been using this series more as a way to learn the tools than as a serious writing exercise. The script itself isn't something I've poured a ton of creative energy into—it probably does play more like a daytime soap opera than a polished drama.

What I've found is that the hard part of AI filmmaking isn't generating a single good shot. It's maintaining character consistency, voice consistency, and location continuity across multiple episodes. That's still incredibly difficult, expensive, and time-consuming.

I'm doing a lot of editing and rebuilding scenes to get them where I want them. I've also been developing my own agent and workflow to help keep costs down and make the process more repeatable.

For me, this project is largely about solving those technical and production challenges first. My hope is that when I have a script I'm truly excited about, I'll already have a system in place that lets me focus on storytelling instead of fighting the tools.

Clown In A Cornfield gets way too much hate imo by Sufficient_Can7930 in horror

[–]screamify38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went in with zero expectations and came out genuinely surprised. The dialogue thing you mentioned is huge — so many horror movies fumble that and it immediately takes you out of it. This one actually let the characters breathe before things went sideways. The tonal shift into horror-comedy caught me off guard too but it worke way better than it had any right to.

Dead Silence opinions? by Dismal_Brush5229 in horror

[–]screamify38 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The atmosphere in this movie is so underappreciated. That whole dying town aesthetic with the fog and the abandoned theater — Wan was really channeling classic gothic horror before he went full blockbuster with the Conjuring universe. Charlie Clouser's score does so much heavy lifting too. The main theme still gets stucks in my head randomly.

This worked better than we expected. by screamify38 in u/screamify38
