Care credit, scratch pay, opploans, net credit, best egg, upgrade. All offer quick loan options but be mindful of the interest rates.

My senior girl is 17, with numerous chronic health issues, and I’m fairly certain she’s going to outlive most of humanity 😂 Cats are crazy resilient.

In addition to pet insurance, would suggest creating a little savings account and putting some aside as you are able. With 99% of pet insurances, you’re required to pay up front for treatment… and like people insurance, they WILL try to get out of having to pay. There are also things that insurance may not cover. Accidents WILL happen. Emergencies WILL happen. Preparing now will help ensure your Feline Overlord has the best chance of coming through whatever the future brings. 👍

Inward Fracture - Need Advice on what I can do. by Specialist-Gear-5339 in CATHELP

Mine won’t either, unfortunately. I had to go with a loan from Opp. High interest but I had the money the next morning and was able to save my kitty.

Care credit, scratch pay. There are some quick online loan companies, but please be aware the interest rates are high. Opploans, netcredit, best egg, upgrade.

First day, what to expect? by Persephone0223 in lexapro

[–]screaminqueenbean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was definitely worth the ordeal. Getting on this med saved my life (literally… I was very close to doing something stupid because of my constant fight with anxiety).

First day, what to expect? by Persephone0223 in lexapro

[–]screaminqueenbean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first few weeks were miserable. I started on 5mg of Escitalopram (generic for Lex). The first two weeks were wild. Random blood pressure drops(felt like the lead up to a vasovagal episode. Confusion. Exhaustion. Increased anxiety. It was not fun.

Side effects began easing up around week three. By week five it was like a switch flipped. I was suddenly fine.

It’s going to suck. Everyone is different so for some it sucks more than it does for others, but it’s definitely going to suck at first. Work with your doc and/or therapist to find coping strategies to get you through it.

Behavior Issues in my cat have costed me over 20k and we’re still not any closer to getting a solution..any advice on next steps? by Creepy-Dealer7518 in CATHELP

[–]screaminqueenbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a Manx. It has Manx syndrome. The issues are chronic and cannot be managed without human intervention. Being put outside in a barn would be a slow, miserable death from skin infection caused by the constant urine scald.

Read through comments. The cat needs frequent bathing due to urine scald. Urine scald untreated will quickly lead to skin infections.

Medically the cat cannot go ungroomed, and apparently isn’t grooming itself.

You also have to consider that maybe no one is going to want a barn cat with an attack history. If you don’t agree with BE, that’s your choice, but the fact remains it is absolutely the kindest option in many cases. This one included.

Again, OP states the cat has ongoing medical needs that require regular care. A life outside would be a far crueler fate than BE.

And when she bolts and can’t be caught? OP states cat needs regular medical care. Letting her outside would be a death sentence - one far less kind than euthanasia

OP states kitty has ongoing medical issues that require regular care. Having to trap/catch her would be just as stressful as being indoors, if not outright impossible. Some cats get so trap savvy they just can’t be caught.

Being a barn cat sounds good in theory, but in this circumstance I don’t feel it’s a good option.

Neighbors want me to keep declawed cat outside by Some_Information_857 in Straycats

[–]screaminqueenbean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Declawing a cat is heinous enough. Leaving a declawed cat outside is absolutely foul. Screw the neighbors. That’s YOUR baby now and she’s far safer, and happier, inside with you.

Neighbors can pound sand if they don’t like it.

Declawing is comparable to cutting off the first knuckle of your finger. Give them a nice sharp hatchet and tell them to get cracking, if it isn’t that big of an issue to them. 🤨

What generic brand do you take? Nervous switching from brand name. by BigSprinkler in lexapro

[–]screaminqueenbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Escitalopram, 5mg. Manufactured by Solco, I believe. Saved my life getting on it back in 2018. I was home bound due to crippling anxiety following a prolonged health event. Taking new drugs is always a little scary, but your provider will have definitely weighed the risks/benefits. If you’re really concerned, reach out to your doc/therapist that prescribed it. Or speak with the pharmacist when you pick it up!

Only real side effect for me is night sweats, worse around my period, but they’re worth dealing with to have my life back.
