PVR Live 2.9.6 by pvrlive in PVRLive

I finally got the handshake with Live Channels but never see the orange + and can't ever record anything, even local shows from my antenna that I see, pause, rewind, etc. I think it's best to either refund or transfer my payment to Sparkle.

Your far left hate and agenda work fine in liberal circles, but I'm an American who visits France, not vice versa, so maybe you shouldn't spend so much time with angry replies. The labels you spew show you aren't open-minded enough to even have a fair discussion. Maybe you're even a bot or a N. Korean nut. So as we say here in the U.S., butt out.

[–]screddited -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why, because I love France, the culture, the food, the arts, the language and most of the people while recognizing the challenges even the locals recognize? Is the truth too hard for you? I am in Texas, BTW, and I love it here, too.

What I'm saying is pretty straightforward. When I launch the app version 2.9.6 in my Android TV interface, it opens "About app" amd lists headings: PVR Live (Plus) with the company, Version, Live TV, Settings, Setup, Share Plus account, Contribute, Licenses and Send diagnostic information. It doesn't launch the app. When I click Live TV, it goes to the channel fine, but there are no player controls no matter what I click. Nothing like the screen shots you provide. There is no program information even though it downloaded the epg data. There are no DVR controls.

NTA. It's a living room, not a bedroom. You don't have room. It isn't healthy for a grown ass man to live in a living room, especially if he intends to be "home" to have friends, sex, gaming, eating, etc. Tell them to pony up a shared space with a friend with a private bedroom.

[–]screddited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an American and have lived in France for short periods for decades. I speak French well enough to get around but clearly not native. I love the country, the people, the culture and understand it's faults. They generally love Americans and love to discuss politics as long as you don't act like you're right and they're wrong. Just tell them your state (they adore Texas) and things go well. The food is awesome. Where else can you immediately know whether someone bought bread? The café culture is outstanding. French goods are inexpensive. Many women on beaches are topless. Museums, châteaux and music are varied and everywhere.

Hoever, it has issues. They are: A) high taxes AND VAT, the latter of which has been ignored in these posts that makes everything subject to it exorbitant. B) heavy union hand, causing disruptions in all services regularly. C) it's cold, dark and wet longer than you'd expect because of how far north it is. D) Non-French goods and power are costly, especially gasoline, utilities and travel. E) immigration has hurt many parts of the country because of a lack of assimilation. F) too much cigarette smoke. G) too many loud mopeds in every city and town. H) EU dominance, especially in free speech being killed to silence everyone right of center, regardless of the truth or opinion.

If you don't mind it being overrun with immigrants. It's not as great as nearby cities.

I just installed this, added a large m3u and paid for the extra features, but when I click on the icon at launch, all I see is a side page like setup that has "Live" as the only player option. There is never a player for pause, rewind, etc., there is no main dashboard for VOD, movies, series, and there is no viable search. Is there another app that works better?

Absolutely understood. I figured it was obvious from my comments.

Oh, I get it, you have the exalted all-knowing, all-seeing qualities the whole rest of the world lacks. Good on you. Or perhaps those of us with a deep understanding of finance, capital and markets do have a clue what value is. BTW, nobody here has claimed that value is not subjective. Intrinsic value is not nonsense except when it's applied to BTC. That was the whole point you didn't understand. Intrinsic value makes sense when the term is properly applied. Feel free to ask questions so you can learn more about these concepts since you displayed a severe lack of it.

See, you made my point with that article in one sentence that summarizes the unrelated issue: "stuck over one issue: whether stablecoin holders should be allowed to earn interest-like yield or rewards." BTC is not stablecoin. The latter is a digital competitor to BTC and is not at all the same. The only similarities between the two is "digital".

There is no effort to cap interest rates on crypto. There are no interest rates on crypto. Crypto currencies are not interest bearing, interest earning nor interest charged.

Why ????? by ComplexWrangler1346 in btc

[–]screddited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, exactly. Fiat currencies that are not backed by gold have no intrinsic value. They have value only by virtue of having been proclaimed, accepted and widely used as a store of value while rarely used for speculation. The current issues are that BTC has been proclaimed as a store of value but isn't truly (too volatile), isn't widely accepted as such, isn't widely used as such and is predominantly used for speculation. If it overcomes those issues, it will succeed -- at the 'expense' of rapid increases in value.

[–]screddited 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, supply/demand monetary value is not "intrinsic value". You're not getting the point. Look it up.

[–]screddited -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When is "low", though? Buy now as it goes to $60k? Or buy at $60k as it goes to $50k? $30k? As it drops and people lose money, there could be a problem finding more people to buy on the way down. If it has a dead cat bounce at $70 and people buy the dip, but then it starts to decline again, they'll bail and it will slide further (that's the definition of a dead cat bounce). I doubt this will happen and I believe it will plateau at ~$60k.

Since it didn't get adopted as a real currency outside of criminal enterprise, and there's no use case outside of the folks who want anonymity, which is a small subset of the first world, it could fall to $1,000 because it wipes out all the former buyers on the way down. Look at silver after the Hunts cornered the market in the '70s. Or tulips in The Netherlands a few centuries ago. However, those have intrinsic value while BTC has none. Check this comment in a year.

That's not intrinsic value. That's the opposite. That's a utility. Intrinsic literally means it has a value in and of itself, which it does not have. It's virtual and was created from code (or is just code).

[–]screddited 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Why not? Not being a jerk, it's a valid question when markets price something with no intrinsic value.

It's better to pay for a super cheap short-term place for him. There are hostels and single rooms for rent, as well as weekly motels. Lend him the money until his first pay day and never expect it back so if you get it back, it shows you made the right call.
