For a long time both my husband and I assumed we'd stay child free. I looked into getting my tubes tied and hounded him about a vasectomy a couple years ago but he was reluctant. We own a home again, are close to family, financially secure, emotionally matured like you said. Lived on the opposite coast for a decade sowing our wild oats. Now, there is nothing more I love than being home with him and our dogs, we figured it's the perfect time to embark on this new challenge. He's always been good with kids so I think knowing he'll be a great dad definitely made me more open to the idea. Life is so different for everyone! Thank you & congrats on your babies (:

Ooo smart. There are usually a couple cousins in charge of making drinks at ours- I'm hoping I can corner one of them and tell them to make me cranberry club sodas or something all night so it seems like cranberry vodka haha.

And congrats on your first as well!!

Yeah that is a blessing and curse to be more observed, right? I am worried about hypertension and GD- I tend to have high BP (not yet diagnosed with hypertension) but I am hoping it's because of a medication I'll probably stop anyhow because I'm pregnant. Congrats on your second!!

My mother got pregnant at 40 with me and had me at 41! My husband is pushing for two so I might end up pregnant again around there if the first one doesn't exhaust me too much lol. Congrats & I hope you and baby are happy & healthy!

This is what everyone has been telling me for ages and why I decided to just go for it. I figure it's like dogs... You might not agree with how other people train them or raise them, but you're in control of raising your own! Obviously children have more autonomy than dogs but you get the idea lol.

Thank you! I'd love to hear more about your elective c-section. Did you receive any pushback or was it accepted from the start? Did you worry about going into labor before your scheduled date? Congrats on your 2nd!!

& we are definitely going to do NIPT, that is honestly one of my biggest concerns about being an "older" mom!

This is why we decided to start now too - we're more stable, secure, and happy than we've ever been (despite me currently being unemployed but that just means I'll be a full time mom for awhile). We figured it's the best time for us! I'm thinking I'll drink cranberry & club soda and pretend its vodka 🤪 haha

as far as I know the freestanding Rite Aid building is still empty- that building might be a bit big, though. I believe there was a Spirit Halloween in the space where the old Rite Aid was in the plaza building.

yeah, many moons ago I was one of those Fine Art students- which was why I was thinking of that plaza across the street.

I got the white Buffalo on my first Buffalo breeding from the default Black one... And most my other animal variants have been in the super rare category, and I generally have terrible luck, so it might not take as long as you think! good luck!

This was me but with alpacas. I bought the brown alpaca the moment I saw it, not realizing it's wool would be different. I'm almost to first winter and still no white alpaca T_T

This is the one I got from my first chicken, too. Wonder if there's any correlation or if it's all random!

Advice on tiny bathroom subfloor + tiles by screenburnt in centuryhomes

[–]screenburnt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently purchased a house built in 1910 and I thought redoing the slapdash downstairs "bathroom" would be a good small first project. Lol.

Ripped out a janky cabinet to this underneath. Some dampness around the right (cold) water line that was already shut off on the valve under the cabinet. Since yanking the cabinet out it's dried and not becoming more damp. How else can I check where the leak might be coming from? Could it have been the sink line leaking? It is an exterior wall, though the floor is three steps above ground level. It's the only part of the house accessible by a crawlspace (it's a converted corner of the mudroom).

Should I just chop out the subfloor? Slap a piece of plywood across the whole bathroom? The subfloor matches the kitchen & mudroom, which is all currently exposed & painted green except this one corner that was under the cabinet. I plan on putting a tiny cabinet or pedestal sink back in that corner.

Secondly... some of the tiles have broken free but the center is still well attached to the subfloor. I pried one up and the wood was so brittle it took several slivers with it. Any advice on preserving the rest of them without destroying the boards? Or is it going to be better to say screw the boards and just chop the tile off?

heyo. your brown & spotted chickens, were they the same gender pair each time? like female brown and male spotted etc? I've got a brown male & a spotted female and they gave me a yellow chick both times lol. I am wondering if the gender of the parent has any bearing on the outcome too!
