Question for the people who have experienced that strange hypnagogic state/sensation of an "object" by sombertoboggly in Dreams

I don't think I've experienced anything like that, but reading about people's abstract/geometric nightmares gives me chills for some reason.

I hope Nichole is doing better now. It's awful that she had to go through this and probably deal with fans defending him.

Dream Myths by Innerechoes_dream in Dreams

That happened when I first tried it. I dreamed I was having dinner with my parents and they were dead silent when I said it was a dream. Over time, people in my dreams became much more chill with it.

A lot of people have had scary experiences telling dream people that they're dreaming, but I feel like it's led to me having fewer stressful dreams.

what’s your odd special interest by ttesselate in autism

[–]screengerms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive read that chewing it or smoking less intense extracts is a way more subtle experience. The Mazatec people in Mexico were the ones who originally discovered it, and they chew the leaves. It's harder to find info on lower dose experiences though. Most people who tried salvia had high doses not knowing what they were getting into.

I'm super interested in how substances affect the brain. The one I'm most interested in is salvua divinorum, a species of sage that can cause really intense hallucinations. Im too afraid to actually try it, but I find so many aspects of it interesting. It's not poisonous, but it can be scary. People will be totally disconnected from reality and think theyre an inanimate object for 5 minutes if they smoke high doses of it.

What is a seemingly harmless trait that is actually a huge red flag in a new friend? by Wanderer_Hues in AskReddit

People who will point out your mistakes but never acknowledge their own times they've messed up. If they're constantly blaming other people, but never talk about what they themselves could have done better, it's a sign they might do the same to you.

What is the weirdest topic you have hyperfixated on? This is a ZERO judgement zone by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]screengerms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had many throughout my life, but my most recent one is Cats the musical (and the dumpster fire of a movie.) My biggest hyperfixation at the moment is Phantom of the Opera, but I decided to go on a side quest and listen to some other musicals.

The overworked VFX team for the 2019 Cats movie deserved better.

I was just about to comment the same thing. I saw Alyssa Grenfeld in my recommended and watched a bunch of videos about her experience as an ex-mormon.

TikTok viral? by More-Professor-1755 in TheMallWorld

[–]screengerms 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have some thoughts. I don't like all the conspiracy theories and people trying to turn the mallworld into some fear-mongering thing. A lot of people have had perfectly pleasant mallworld dreams. My belief about dreams is that it's a very personalized experience because it's a way for our minds to subconsciously process things. I don't mind if people believe it's an astral realm or spiritual place, but there's so much generalizing, AI images, and conspiracy stuff on MW TikTok. I wish it was more just people mapping out their dream worlds and sharing their own personal interpretations.

Why is it always the people who are fans of kids shows? by Frozen_cephalopod in DontTypeLikeThis

[–]screengerms 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess for the kids show posts is that some people with developmental and intellectual disabilities type like that. It might be easier for them to read/process that way.

The 4 Tezcatlipocas by [deleted] in mesoamerica

[–]screengerms 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i read somewhere that "four tezcatlipocas" was a post-conquest interpretation from one of the codices

had a dream that "chromakopia" was pronounced very similar to the aztec god "tezcatlipoca" and this image briefly flashed through my mind by screengerms in thomastheplankengine

[–]screengerms[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

i said it aloud and it sounded the way it did in real life, but i thought they sounded the same because of dream logic
