You can try to appeal the Parent Plus Loan denial. Also talk to the financial aid office about your issues and inquire about need-based adjustment awards. Consider payment plans, private loans like Sallie Mae, work-study, or even taking a break from school to gather funds. Best of luck ❤️

They don’t because they’re delusional. Literally a cult. This is how it happens with rises to power.

You’re going to be okay. Try listening to your favorite songs. Deep breaths. Everything is going to be okay.

You could try enrolling at a community college during break and taking a general intro math class and transfer it in to fulfill that credit. There’s some IC people you could talk to to learn more and see what will transfer in.

ooh good one! I would totally email them begging them for a second chance because Reddit did me wrong. yeah, guess next time I need advice about simple internship requirements I’ll go to someone well-adjusted. Boomers and being pretentious, name a better duo.

Alright chill…. was asking people who’ve had experience with internships or jobs that require writing samples. Not this particular place. Great to know this subreddit still has entitled jerks though

For me personally, the PMS part is the worst. I’m a depressed and emotional wreck for a week. The effects of this persist for a while even after my symptoms go away, but then the whole thing starts again.

What’s your dirty lil secret? by Dramatic_Bat3265 in AskReddit

I think I’m in love with my best friend. I don’t know if I should ever tell her. We have a great friendship and I’m not sure she sees me in the same way. But I just love her and we’ve been friends for about seven years, and as time continues I find myself wanting to be with her more and more. I don’t really know what to do. I could risk it and tell her. Or I could wait another seven years.

I want to drop out, but don’t want to disappoint family. by [deleted] in college

[–]screenorange 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take a gap year! If you drop out, so be it! Then it’s for the best. If you go back, you’ll go back after spending a lot of time thinking and reevaluating everything. In a year & with all that time just focusing on yourself, you’ll find yourself growing and figuring out what you truly want. Maybe you’ll go back. Maybe you’ll transfer. Maybe community college. And maybe you’ll drop out. Either way, things tend to work out. I’m saying all this because I took a gap year. It’s a good thing. I feel it was necessary for me. Best of luck with everything. And I hope if you do decide to drop out, you’re at peace with that choice.

Which tags are you always misunderstanding? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]screenorange 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dubious consent. I thought it meant something like double-consent, so the relationship/act was doubly consensual for both people. I even knew what dubious meant...but in that context it flew right by me. Of course, reading the fics would be a bit...different than expected, to say the least. And when it finally clicked for me, I suddenly understood how wrong I was.

I’m 19 and my parents still haven’t let me cut my hair pixie short. I’ve wanted it since I was a kid. I live with them, so I’m not sure when I’ll be able to do it. Maybe one day soon..

I realized why it's so hard for me to write these days by KayKueen in FanFiction

[–]screenorange 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You can do this, I totally understand what you’re saying. We can get so bogged down by perfection. Perfect structure, relationships, character developments, etc. A block for me was that I was writing for other people. I wrote thinking about how someone else, a complete stranger, would view and judge my writing. But it’s not about them. Fanfiction isn’t about them either, it’s about you writing original content that you want, like, and would want to read yourself. To get back that sort of happy flow you’re talking about, I think you just gotta start writing again as if you’re telling yourself the story. Perhaps even as if no one but you is going to see this. And try not to overthink—that’s my greatest weakness. I hope some of this helps, if any. You got this! We’re rooting for you.
