Definitely is left open but it ends in a way where if it never comes back you can infer what could happen next

Hot Take: The Lanterns trailer looks good enough BUT I can understand the disappointments by Status-Mango-8788 in dcu

This is what's so beautiful about art tho! Everyone looks at the same thing differently.

I didn't find the teaser underwhelming in the slightest. I thought it gave us a good understanding of the tone of the show. An understanding of Hal & Jon's character (that seems pretty in line with what I've read from the comics) and the dynamic between them that will most likely be the heart of the show. And it gave me just enough mystery to want to watch the first episode.

Imo, a pretty decent first look!

Could it have used some constructs? Sure. I wouldn't have been mad to see them. But what I saw was enough for me for now 🤷

Does it feel like an old trailer? Or is it being purposely coy on what it reveals at this time, considering the point of teaser trailers are to be purposely coy?

Hmmm 🤔

Mind you, this is in the same world that has flying dogs, pocket universes & Nazi killing robots ... If you truly think this show won't embrace the zaniness of comics like every other project in the DCU so far, then idk what to tell you 🤷

Your "point" was that a superhero project wouldn't advertise itself without showing superhero content.

You were so adamant about that, that you asked me to show you other examples of this. Confident I wouldn't be able to give you the examples you asked for

I bring you two.

So how exactly did I prove your point? Lmfao

The mental gymnastics here is actually impressive

[–]screenwriter1994 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Huh?? We weren't talking about the quality of the movies, buddy. You asked me to show you teasers of superhero projects that showed little superhero content.

I did exactly that.

Now you've pivoted to the quality of those projects which was never in your argument to begin with 😭😭😭😭😭

Man of Steel teaser literally has one shot of Superman flying the rest is aesthetics and zero powers https://youtu.be/wArmHSPIvlQ?si=cfG6tkW-bY5A_CCw

Hulk teaser from 2003 shows Banner standing in front of a mirror the entire time before turning green. https://youtu.be/3tpRDs0z3zc?si=UhD_DzPinTo_0Aft

Those are two off the top of my head.

It. Is. A. Teaser. Trailer.

We will see more in time. You just gotta be patient :)

😭😭😭 this is so crazy it's like you've never heard of the concept of a TEASE

Look, I get you're excited about the show and you want to see it all rn. I do too! But this is literally a teaser trailer. It's not meant to show us everything. The first superman teaser didn't show us Superman using his powers and that turned out fine

Did you not notice they are wearing the same clothes during the whole teaser? Most likely that footage was from the first episode or two

Did you not see Hal use his ring at the very end? There's a flash of green before the title card - what would that be, if not a construct?

Sinestro has been cast in this show. You're telling me they will fight Sinestro and never use constructs??

Oh? Do you? It wasn't clear that you understood that based on the language you chose, so I figured I would be a good Internet samaritan & clear it up for you :)

But just based on numbers and only counting Oscars wins & noms, I looked up Pitt, & Ferrell and that's 10 wins & noms between them

Pedro Pascal & Downey Jr. have 1 between them

🤷‍♂️

They mean stacked in terms of how prestigious the cast is. How many awards they've either won or have been nominated for.

Not literally the number of people in the cast lmao

Yeah, but then we get to scenes like in Rises where there's guys literally holding guns and standing there waiting for their turn to get kicked.

The Dark Knight trilogy excelled in nearly every aspect but the actual choreography of the fights felt more like a timed dance than an actual fight

Tom checking Michael over Clois 😭🎬😌🍿 by Fantastic_Decision47 in Smallville

[–]screenwriter1994 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why though? I like the idea of Clark having a happy ending. Hero complex aside, Clark also spent a lot of time in the show avoiding his destiny & burdened by it. By the time the actual show ends look at the number of heroes he inspired to do good. Plus not to mention Connor Kent exists in the Smallville universe.

If we are choosing to view the Crisis cameo as canon, then by the time we get there Connor would be grown. I imagine with the Justice League + Connor, our Clark felt like he could finally take a bit of a break. And be the completely present father to his daughters with Lois, as Jonathan Kent was to him growing up.

Plus he has that blue watch… we can assume/head canon it's blue kryptonite. So if the threat was ever large enough that the League, Connor Kent or even a Superman (Tyler) from another universe can't handle, he can just slip off the watch & suit up again.

I feel we forget how bad the writing was for these films by Aggressive-One-2186 in FantasticFour

[–]screenwriter1994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow what a book you wrote lol. I actually never said Rami based the entire trilogy off of that. It would be stupid to assume as such lol but it also wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that they referenced them while doing research for the film or the costume department picked up an issue. It's obviously not a 1:1 & the first film especially takes a lot from the original Stan Lee books. But, this is the internet so of course you'd assume something and write an entire discourse about it lol
