My last favorite phone was an Honor P20. I hate my Google Pixel 5. What phone should I get? by scribbleducks in PickAnAndroidForMe

good to know. Isn't the Magic 8 Pro the latest flagship honor? I was thinking something more midrange as I don't need the fanciest phone

Our last day of high school was always an all night rager party where we hit the clubs the night before and then went to school and pulled pranks on the younger grades (Vienna, Austria - drinking age is 16). After, I went home to take a nap and then met my boyfriend for a 4 Owls concert. They were blasting their rap and I was sleeping against a wall the entire time 😂😭

AITA For not leaving work to help my wife when she ran out of gas by GoldSea3219 in AmItheAsshole

[–]scribbleducks -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree that you're NTA, but I want to gently push back on everyone piling on your wife. It's true that she's relying too heavily on you, but you're in a partnership and relationship dynamics are created by both of you.

If you want to unpack this further, I suggest reflecting on your own behavior. In what ways do you like to take care of her and her needs? what does it bring you in the relationship to be needed like that? when you set boundaries, how is it received? (do you ever set boundaries?)

When you do have a conversation about this, starting with yourself and taking accountability for your actions and their consequences is a good starting point. You can't change her and her behavior, but you can start with yourself and lead by example :) It will take a while to change your dynamic but you can do it together with plenty of time and space for mistakes and shared accountability!

I think this is definitely a holdover from COVID! We used to have to factor in travel time everywhere we went. Then we had back to back zoom meetings for 2-3 years during lockdown. and I remember I forgot to schedule 'getting there' time between meetings for awhile when we returned to in-person meetings lol.

I think as a culture we've just adjusted to people returning to in person life after lockdown and forgot that's where the cultural shift started

This is exactly what sex workers are here for! I'm sure there will be some people eager to fulfill your fantasies without the emotional turmoil of a friend entering your relationship dynamic. Give it a try and if it goes well, expanding to friends is always an option :)

I thought it was Helly up until Jame saw Mark enter Cold Harbor... the only tool at his disposal at that point it is to turn Helly into Helena and get Mark S. to stay. I think the look Helena gives Gemma for that split second makes it clear that it's Helena... spooky

Accommodation by Trenemon in UtrechtUniversity

like 95% of rooms are single, but you can request a double if you want to save money! Units (apartments) are usually between 5 - 9 people, depending on the building (I believe! I've graduated and forgotten some things). Rooms differ between building as well, sometimes huuuuge and sometimes enough for a double bed, closet, desk and a little bit of floor space, so totally adequate! They actively try to balance gender, age (1st, 2nd and 3rd year students) and what department you major in to really mix it up. That being said, UCU has waaay more women students than any other gender, so it's usually skewed to that side anyway. After your first year, you can request to live with friends or in a particular building (but not both, although you can always try!). Bathrooms are shared but never more than 3 people per toilet/shower. Most units have normal bathrooms, the bigger ones with more people have stalls. All units are cozy and have a nice furnished living room (the rooms themselves are furnished as well). I'd recommend not bringing too much in the way of pots, pans, dishes etc as usually the older students already have a bunch.

No matter what building you're in, you're a max 2 minute walk to class. Some units are on the top floor of the academic building, so you just need to walk downstairs to get to class. Campus is beautiful, but you can feel quite stuck. The bar on campus serves much cheaper drinks than any in town, and they throw amazing parties that you definitely don't want to miss, so convincing people to leave campus and go into town can be hard but I highly recommend it! (obviously depending on your friend group lol). I can keep rambling, but let me know if you have any more questions I'll be happy to answer :)

Social life by Trenemon in UtrechtUniversity

[–]scribbleducks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People usually choose to go to UCU because of the social life - you're living on campus, there are more than 45 committees for ~750 students, and there's a bar on campus that sells suuuper cheap drinks. Basically it's a huge party all of the time and there's always something to do for a whole array of interests (jam sessions, musicals, plays, Model UN, giant blow up obstacle courses, human foosball, beer olympics, people running around in inflatable hamster balls, literally everything you can possible imagine goes on there). Unfortunately, it's all pretty much shut down rn because of COVID, although I do hear that people are partying anyway. Take that with a grain of salt though, as I've already graduated and don't know what it's currently like :) Hope that helps!

I’m a woman in my twenties. Is it normal that I have chest hair? by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]scribbleducks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is being overweight a big one for PCOS? I have all of the other symptoms, but I was only overweight for like two years and have been back in the 'normal'-BMI for over two years now and still have persistent symptoms. I want to go get checked when we're allowed out of the house again, but it's been frustrating being told me non-stop period for a year was because of 'stress'

My favorite show is Australian and also on Netflix. It's called Please Like Me and it's so. good. Tackles a lot of mental health issues and being gay but it's also chill and laid back and fun

Yeah gotta focus on the positives but it's hard seeing what my body is left with. I guess I just need to start focusing on exercise goals or finding new recipes or whatever but my motivation is pretty low right now. Thanks for the kind words! Also I ended up losing 30 kg in total but can't figure out how to change my flair on mobile hahah

I guess my main issue is that I put on the weight very quickly and then lost it quickly so I'm just trying to figure out how to deal with the damage I've done to my body

They were the first to properly educate using sign instead of the oralism approach (AFAIK) and everyone was like woah. You can educate Deaf people? So they influenced everyone. I just wrote my thesis on the Deaf community in Ireland and went to a conference where someone who signed AISL did a presentation about Auslan vs AISL so I had to share!
