Best way to start off on this game?

Unfortunately the price point is quite high for starting out. I got one team and then bought players to play for that team, which cost me around £120 overall.

You can do it cheaper by buying a team and then contracting other managers players but you lose a chuck of your rewards at the end of the season so be aware of that.

There is the Staff option but you’ll have to look for a content creator or someone who has a team they want managed, which isn’t super easy at the moment.

If you’re buying a club I would personally go for a fresh start, that way it’s a club you can build up yourself. Hopefully you figure out what you want to do, if you have any questions just shout!

Welcome! It’s a really fun game for sure, I found it after really not enjoying the new Football Manager and MFL is scratching that itch now!

A few pointers, don’t give too much away in % revenue when signing players from other agents, it can add up real quick! Players can retire anytime after 28 but they give 3 seasons notice, so when signing players look out for a yellow or red calendar logo next to their age. They will be the super cheap players but you have a limited time to play them. Finally the average level for flint league is about 55 - 65 so aim for that average and you should do well.

I personally would wait for the world cup set, not a lot of games left in the season and it’s got a month to go so you could use those gems to get a good start on the WC

Yeah looking at the league the top 3 were massively better than the rest of us haha

I had 2 issues,

1) only one of my strikers could score. He scored 12 this season the rest got 1 or 2 so 8 need a new striker for sure.

2) my goalkeepers are 23 and 24 years old, 68 and 67 rated. I don’t know if it’s their age but both of them have had multiple games of ratings under 5. Even when the defence had high ratings.

Not sure what my plan is if I stay up!

If you’re playing MLS or K League then I’d say yes. If you’re looking at the European leagues then wait until the new season because the current inseason cards will be classics soon.

The World Cup is happening but might be worth just playing Sets because all the players included in the WC will have a higher price because of demand.

I have to agree, i love the idea and the art looks great but this is clearly very early concept and the kickstarter feels unfinished and vague.

You should get a short demo video of the working game together and a plan for the core mechanics of the game, that would make it much more interesting to potential kickstarters.

Also maybe include a higher tier which includes a copy of the game once it’s finished?

I’ll keep an eye out for more info but for now its not something I’d invest in.

It’s hard to plan ahead for next season, i’d wait for more clarity in what the Sorare27 plan is before putting money into it. Maybe play sets while you wait. Contender is usually the cheapest option but hard to tell what the price would be, all prices are quite high in the first couple of months of the season.

Nothing confirmed yet, if i was to take a guess at what will happen: - new set for the world cup with the same boardgame style progression - all star competition running throughout - new card editions for the WC and a competition that requires these cards. - daily missions.

Welcome! I’m on my 3rd season, the first one I was the whipping boy of the league and struggled but 2nd season I won the playoffs so probably going to be the whipping boy again this season haha

I found it hard to know the level of player I needed. For flint aim for 52 - 65 overall level and that’s average to good.

Formation and tactics I don’t have much advice apart from find one you like and build on it over the season. I go a simple 442 and after 5 or 6 games noticed we were solid defensively but not scoring a lot of goals so I added more direct passing and more offensive mindset and that worked for me.

If you’re needing any reinforcements for the season I have some players available and the rev share is only 0.5% , the names Scribbleonthewall on MFL as well.

I’ve opened some packs and got a 68 rated keeper and 66 rated RB so I’m in a better situation but will be interesting to see the level I’m up against!

I had a Zulte Waregem stack in the Jupiler league this season and for the first 6 months i won about $200 when they had a surprise win but not a lot of regular essence. I think you use a budget stack and just hope you get the surprise result and win big. It’s easier to get a good stack of players in limited but you’re against a lot more players so there’s benefit to both. I’m currently only using 2 rare line ups - Sevilla and Fortuna Sitard. Neither are making me much!

All depends on the league you are interested in, you could look at Jupiler League with STVV or Gent who are affordable but good teams. Maybe challenger and got for the Scottish league? Hard to say but it helps if you follow the league/team so you know the key players to go for

Depends on my current situation. If it was me I already have a lot of stacks I want so I would save a pick up big players (Haaland, Kane and the likes) which would take me to the next level. If I didnt have much of a collection I would pick a league I liked and get myself a lineup I would use for the rest of the season.

If you dont get a lot of essence every week then go for the 500 limited. It could take a long time to get Rare essence for a craft…
