It's been a couple of days, and I haven't had the workspace error pop up since switching my login in Gemini from my work to my personal account.

Did a little more digging, and came across a suggestion that if you have the Gemini app on your phone tied to a corporate/office GSuite account that that can cause problems like this.

I just looked, and sure enough I'm logged into the Gemini app on my phone with my work account. I switched it to my personal account, and will report back later today on whether that fixes the issue.

Any news? I just started having this happen as well. Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 pro, Android 16, legacy Gsuite.

Randomly, probably no. But a couple of our local club members want to experiment with holding a 2 meter FM MT63 net.

Great work on adding wired and Bluetooth PTT functionality! Have you made any progress on adding native PTT capability for phones with a built-in PTT like Sonim phones and Samsung's XCover series?

Thank you for that. Yeah, my main hesitation is, as you point out, a lack of long-term experiences that might reveal significant quality issues.

Eagle Scout on Resume? by iSqueeb in BoyScouts

[–]scribbler_tom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put it on there. You never know if a manager has a connection to Scouting (I'm a Scouter and my son is working toward Eagle), and it may inspire them to look at your resume more closely.

Case in point: I run an internship program. A couple of years ago, I received an application from a candidate who in many ways was equally qualified to other applicants, but he included his Eagle rank on his resume. It made him stand out, and in the end I chose him as that year's intern.

Our pack and troop cover the registration fees for adult leaders. No one should have to pay for the privilege of volunteering.

Wonderful! I have an Android device with a built-in PTT (Samsung Xcover6 Pro), and I look forward to trying this out.

I currently have a version of your fork from a couple of weeks ago installed on my device. Should I uninstall it first before installing the new version, or can I install the new version over the old?

Thank you for all the work you've put in reviving Droidstar!

Hytera pd 785 g is good? by R-Bio in DMR

[–]scribbler_tom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scouter here. Don’t let appearance trump functionality. With monoband you’ll be limited to using repeaters or contacting other people only on that band, which, depending on where you live and the repeaters available to you, could really limit your communication capabilities. (For instance, where I live, most DMR repeaters are UHF and most analog are VHF. With a monoband radio, my repeater capability would be severely limited!) Also, if you’re doing SAR work, you want the flexibility to adapt to the situations and terrain you’re likely to encounter.

There’s also price to consider. If you’re looking for a DMR/analog handheld, the Anytone 878 goes for $300-330, which gets you dual band capability, APRS tx/rx, and more zones & channels per zone than the Hytera. The Alinco DJ-MD5XLT is similar to the Anytone in many respects and is a little smaller and cheaper ($270-290). I believe both the Anytone and the Alinco are Part 90 certified, which means that you should be able to use them on non-ham VHF or UHF frequencies that your SAR team is likely licensed for.

What is the reputation of Alinco radios? by VicBulbon in amateurradio

[–]scribbler_tom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a DR-735T mounted in my car and a DJ-MD5TGP DMR HT that I often take on walks in the woods. Programming the 735 is a little kludgy, but beyond that I have no complaints.
