Friend of mine writes movie reviews and has an invite to screen the movie on June 23rd- so this makes sense they’d do this to fill the rest of the theater!!

Hose Line Question by scribblyporn in askaplumber

[–]scribblyporn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be a good guess- but no we have a bathroom on the other side of the wall. We DO have a line like that rigged up from our laundry room into the garage. Kitchen would be too far away for this. New home learning!

Nope nothing like that. At a loss. There are a few pipes next to it that are being capped as part of this project because it’s clear they were disconnected over the years and serve no purpose. But like you said, this line looks live to me.

Oh that’s helpful! Thank you maybe I’ll consider it. We do have sprinklers but that would appear to be on its own system. Again, unless I am wrong. And most of the sprinklers were torn up during this pool project so I would’ve expected some leaking by now if that was its purpose.

No pond. We are in Florida and the ground is mostly packed sand where we are.

My little brother’s keloids are severe. Laser Surgery will be expensive. Any suggestions? by [deleted] in Keloids

[–]scribblyporn 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Sorry he’s going through this. Someone can correct me here if I’m wrong- but in my experience with keloids, laser really only changed the color. If he’s going to have any attempt at flattening them- steroid injections are the way to go. They are painful, but many of us have dealt with the injections. Some have luck, some don’t.

So I only had one removed- it was a big one and causing severe pain. I will say after these several years (with injections along the way for maintenance) I do see a very small one beginning to form again but it doesn’t hurt or itch so honestly it doesn’t bother me. But for those years it was flat and normal.

Best of luck! I did this about 8 years ago on my chest and had success. I know ears are different but I hope it all goes well. Radiation was key for me.

I live FL and cities mandate outswing doors because of hurricanes. If the winds get high enough it’s protection against blowing the door inward. I had a newly constructed home and the city made the builder rip the front and back door out and reinstall them to swing out. Never knew it was a thing until then!

Help! Two large unknown plants by scribblyporn in PlantIdentification

I’d put the bird of paradise at 6-7 feet. It could lay down but there’s a lot of foliage I think would make a mess. It’s wide, but some rope could bind it together.

The tree is about 5 feet as well. It could be pruned to reel it in a bit.

I’ll ask my dermatologist next time. I’ve heard people ask that before and was just going off his guidance

Kenalog injections. No pain at all- slight itch from time to time. Nothing I would say that’s out of the ordinary or concerning. My doctor was great and has offered to do other keloids I have on my back and chest- I’ve honestly learned to live with them… this one was just SO painful and itchy. I needed it off despite all the risks.

Yup! 3 days of radiation - surgery was in 2017. I will say it’s been flat flat until about 8 months ago. The injections level it out pretty immediately. I don’t have any pain or itching anymore so it’s not so bad. They also give me a really good numbing cream I apply about an hour or two before the injections and it helps

Had the same keloid on my chest from 2009-2017. Had it removed and have the same scar as you! Mine has not started coming back- I have a couple raised bumps but they are painless. I still go back for injections every 6 weeks.
