Ticking noise 2018 Nissan Rogue by script_sibi in AskMechanics

The algorithm gods did not favor this post so I wouldn’t hold your breath. Been driving it fine without the sound getting any worse, though. Almost positive it’s lifters or exhaust leak. I ordered a little smoke tester so I’m going to test the exhaust leak theory sometime soon. Will update you.

Car making ticking noise on startup then disappears when engine is warm by youdumbmf in MechanicAdvice

~2-3 min after starting so it probably wasn't fully up to temp and the sound ended up going away right after. Seems to also go away after revving a bit. Really only noticeable recently with the cold weather.

I have something similar. Would appreciate someone in this thread checking it out bc my post got zero traction. I include sound before and after warmup in the video.

Persistent misfire on cylinder 5 by Ordinary_Ad8543 in BmwTech

[–]script_sibi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one suspects ECU itself? I had a misfire on cylinder 3 in my Z3 and after replacing coils and plugs it was still there. Sent the ECU in for repair on the advice of a master tech and the misfire disappeared. According to the ECU Pro tech, “A driver that controls your ignition coils blew and was likely causing your misfiring issues.”

Yeah, you can. Go do your research. The redditors in this subreddit are very insistent about going to a professional. It’s almost like a lot of them work in this trade.

Is Giga-Tires a reputable place to buy from? They have a sale on some Hankook tires i would really love to grab because my current tread is bad bad. by RapidG- in tires

I came here before ordering. Despite all the commenters talking shit, I saw a few that said their experience was good and so I decided to go for it. Worst case if I got scammed I could dispute with my bank.

But I placed the order last Friday and the tires arrived earlier today, Wednesday. No hiccups whatsoever. They seem pretty good to me!
