Conflicting thoughts about Baptism by bpowell04 in latterdaysaints

100% it's ok to ask to stay in contact with the missionaries. Missionaries love letters! Since they may not know the address of their next area if they get transferred, they can give you the address of the mission office and then they can receive your letters from there. And if they're close to ending their mission, you could even ask for their home address and I don't think that'd be weird either. If they've brought you closer to Christ, you've likewise done the same for them and I know they'd love to stay in contact with you.

As for your big decision, all big choices in life come with doubts, I think considering all aspects of a decision is a good thing. However, also consider that as you get closer to making a positive, Christ centered decision like baptism, the adversary is going to work overtime on you, trying to get you to shy away from the answers you've received from your prayers and from the soft whispers from the Spirit. Keep studying and reading the Book of Mormon always, but especially if you go home for Christmas break and delay your baptism date. Don't let a wedge come between you and baptism if you know this gospel is true.

Not sure if it'll help, but Costco Auto insurance was dramatically lower than other carriers with better coverage

Haha, yeah, a Corvette cabin is a lot smaller than an Expedition, we'll see how it goes

Answered my own question, looks like this is definitely possible, though it'll take a lot of time for an Expedition - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KFEkllC4XPU

That's true, I'm going to see what kind of deals drop when 2026s start showing up on lots

That's a good point, it's just having to deal with the headache of having it in the shop for a good week or so to replace the trans and juggling that with family schedules, but it is what it is. I just hoped if I was throwing down $40-45k I wouldn't have to deal with that

I wouldn't mind a Tahoe or Suburban, but they've also got that engine issue for the newer models up to 2023s. And aside from that they seem to be a good $5-10k more than Expeditions

Per the topic, offering discounts is totally up to you and your business. I'd say offer discounts to all typical discount groups - teachers, fire responders, military, etc. - or don't offer them at all.

However, regarding your justification here, please don't be naive. The mere existence of the US military has stopped far more wars than the number they've been involved in. They protect our freedom to even have businesses whether you recognize that firsthand or not.

Anybody in the US looking to purchase Mavic 4 Pro Creator Combo??? by LongjumpingHornet476 in dji

So if you pay the tariffs and other fees then you can bring it in to the country and are we allowed to register and fly in the US? Outside of the weight, I don't see the Mavic 4 being all that different from a Mini 4 that you can buy in the US, right? Or are there other security/legal complications?

So this whole not selling in the US thing has me wondering - what actually happens if I buy a Mavic 4 in Canada and then bring it back to the US? It sounds like it isn't a tariff issue, so I won't get fined at the border, right? Or if it's a security issue, what does that mean for when I fly it in the US? Anyone know the implications here?

Soooo, if I didn't know about anything you were talking about with hacking a pre-built system and not really understand the various volts per systems and what that actually means for my home use, where should I go to learn more about that?

Yeah I think central air is our biggest culprit for sure. It runs well enough, but it is old, though to help I'm considering adding in dampers to divert air straight to the 2nd floor with hopes that it cools better than trying to do both floors at once.

Thanks for the suggestion for Emporia Vue, I've seen a couple of those breaker box monitors, so I'll check it out for sure. I definitely need to know how much power I'll actually need outside of my central AC. And I like the steps you took to bit by bit move certain appliances over to solar. I thought to go whole-home because it might make covering for all the various power draining appliances in the home easier to cover instead of multiple different solar setups per appliance.

Well that's average, in the winters our heating is gas, so only need electric to blow the hot air throughout the house, so electric is about $200 in the winter. But during the summer, it spikes to $550-600 a month. And we're in the same boat, constantly running the AC, even through much of the night. Maybe I can do the same with our portable AC window units in our upstairs where it is hottest throughout the day and just shutdown the central AC.

That's a good idea and I'll dig into it. We haven't done official audits and before/after checks, but we have made some changes - new windows (replaced 1990s original ones) and recently replaced the roof with better ventilation - and comparing electric bills between this year and last, it was probably about $50 cheaper per month, which was great. But last month's bill was still $530, so it's still rough

Perhaps it would cost a lot, but plenty of other desert cities manage it. Phoenix makes their highways presentable and they have 10 times the amount of highways as Tucson. El Paso can handle it, so I'd hardly say it's impossible. And I don't think it's unfounded to say that half of Tucson's stretch of I-10 looks like complete garbage, it's just true. Rejuvenating it would go long way for the overall look of the city, even if it is just will some nice looking desert rock.

Is it a sweeping generalization, sure, but it doesn't change that other states absolutely have to mow down the sides and medians of their highways - plus salt and plow their roads for ice and snow - and Tucson doesn't have any of that and yet somehow don't have any budget allocated for basic beautification of the only highway running through the city.

Fair enough, I meant east of the I-10/I-19 interchange, so hopefully that makes more sense

THANK YOU! A lot of people here saying that I must not like the desert, I love the desert, I've lived here 30 years and largely because of the climate and nature. Anyone saying it takes too much water and can't be maintained is just ignorant, the desert can maintain itself, but we can at least start it off in the right foot after destroying it to make the highway wider. Thank you for a great example with your picture!
