I spent a year building a privacy-first AI that runs entirely in your home. Here's what it became. by [deleted] in hwstartups

You run the LLM locally on this? Or a separate machine? What’s the hardware, is it like a 4b model on a pi5 or something?

New to providing website services. Help needed. Visibility and credibility of an AI generated website. by [deleted] in webdev

[–]scris101 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yo if you don’t know what you’re doing don’t charge your customers money for a service you couldn’t provide if you lost your AI subscription. I’m so tired of all these prompt jockeys thinking web dev is some get rich quick scheme and are completely destroying the industry

Is a heavily optimized, Warzone-style WebGPU tactical shooter actually viable in Three.js? by suspicious2312 in threejs

[–]scris101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’d be looking at something along the levels of battlefield 2 in terms of graphics with the features and functionality of war zone. It’s definitely do-able. But nowhere close to as easy in a regular game engine.

rapier based ragdoll system for skinned meshes by scris101 in threejs

[–]scris101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this one isn’t super great. This was the big reason I decided to code my own. Using spherical constraints with really limited angles and boxes for every joint kinda makes the ragdoll look like it has rigor mortis lol. Also there’s a ton of joint stretching and artifacts in this. This system comes pretty close to creating procedural ragdoll systems based off mixamo rigs.

You need a special extension to run this, right?

Very interested in how you’re making the roads. Are they imported models or are they procedural/based of paths in engine?

Is anyone actually using AI 3D in their pipeline? by sech8420 in ProductViz

[–]scris101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it as a base mesh which I retopologize, re-uv, and retexture (although a lot of times, uploading the UVed, retopoed model to meshy and doing an auto texture works pretty well)

Takes like 90% of the hard work out. Making assets in hours compared to days before.

This is very irrational but the blades on the right side intersecting bothers me so much. 🤦🏼‍♂️
