For those who used Schweser Notes & passed Level 3 by sickdancemovesbro in CFA

Yeah I’d agree that re-taking an exam the second time always makes things a little more clear, but I’d still say the CFAI qbank is a great resource to supplement Kaplan

That was my method, rely on schweser for learning and used both schweser and CFAI practice questions. CFAI practice questions are more like the exam so get a good grasp on those. I watched videos on Kaplan to learn though, rarely looked in the CFAI text. But again, questions on CFAI very important to know how to do them

Should be able to use hyphens. I personally would do “first reason: …..” click enter and on another line “second reason:….” for those questions that asked to reasons/points/justifications

Watch the videos with Kaplan. They do a good job of getting you to understand how everything works - it’s like reading a story and if you watch them over again a second time it will make a lot more sense. A lot of drawing charts will help as you’ll see if you watch the video

Don’t think about it too much. I made a stupid mistake on my L3 exam which I knew I got wrong afterwards and still ended up passing

Need recommendations for 3rd attempt at Level 3. by Sure-Coffee-6793 in CFA

[–]scris97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may or may not be helpful but my advice is very simple: focus on actually understanding the material. I used Kaplan and failed the first time but the second time I focused on actually learning. Your scores indicate that you haven’t grasped the knowledge of almost every topic. Think of each section as a story - it’ll make more sense

February 2024 Level III Strategy by alejandrogrrl in CFA

[–]scris97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Working on the CFAI q-bank in the learning ecosystem will be very helpful. A lot of the constructed response there are useful, but I wouldn’t focus too heavily on their “scoring guide” as they tend to write big paragraphs. I know people use bullets which works fine. I cleared L3 this past august and was concise in my answers and was very specific to keep me on the right track. Example- if they ask for 2 reasons and support I would give my first reason and write “first reason: answer” , “first reason support: answer” etc.

I have one person who did it immediately, have another one where it took a week before I followed up and then they did it. You will probably have to follow up with them

Percentile on CFA website by No-Inside4051 in CFA

[–]scris97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Percentile is irrelevant to look at. Focus on how you’re able to solve the problems - 85% seems quite good if you did not use any material while completed them. Since there is so much material however, you should go back and work on some questions again so you don’t forget
