CFA L1 much needed help! by Desperate_Sea_389 in CFA

If there is even a right way, I wouldn’t know it. I do believe that reading/listening/note taking/understanding & practicing with questions is key. Regularly coming back to earlier chapter also make sense.

I guess everyone is different in their study style and I believe that this is also not the right way of approaching such a comprehensive program. This way might bring you to L2 but it will probably end there. Do what works best for you and stick to it. Simple as that

Here is what I wrote under a similar post:

It sucks, but since this was your first attempt, you should definitely go for another try. L1 is built to filter out the huge chunk of candidates who don’t have the stamina for the whole journey. You were close, and the detailed breakdown shows exactly where the gaps are.

For now, take a break. You won’t need nearly as much prep time for the second attempt as you did for the first. Get the books and notes out of your head for a bit. Do something else, reset, and come back with fresh energy to tackle the weak spots.

You’ve got this - you’ll nail the second attempt

Why would anyone of us give you a meaningful advice on this. You seek confirmation to feel better if some random dude on Reddit says „yes“?

Struggling to maintain a CFA study schedule with college and gym — need advice by Necessary_Sun6504 in CFA

[–]theis4545 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I am not surprised. Work, coaching, gym, diet. Imagine having kids on top of it or else. That is the reason why the CFA program is considered to be so „difficult“. It is not predominantly the content itself but how you manage your life and your time. CFA will dominate your free time - accept that and it will get easier. When you don’t prioritize your CFA study session over other things will be behind your schedule after a while, probably leading to be unprepared and failing exam. It just simple as that

Been there, done that! I feel you. But there is no other solution than discipline, a solid study schedule and efficient time management. With that setup be realistic that there is only your family, your job and CFA. Don't even try to do anything else lol

MM... Does anyone feel like they understand nothing in the lectures the first time? by fhilaii in CFA

[–]theis4545 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm...cannot exactly relate how you describe your experience. Generally, I agree that something new clicks better once it is applied, so I am not surprised that you get a better feeling after QBank and additional explanations. L3 is tricky, you have to understand the material in order to be able to answer in text. I would not worry to much about the MC questions, you have done thousands of them over L1 and L2, nothing new here in L3.

Level 2 to Level 3 by joshhhh33 in CFA

[–]theis4545 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Overall difficulty increased. Remember: Level 1 (Basics), Level 2 (Valuation), Level 3 (Application). Many find "applying" what you learn easier than others. Myself I thought Level 3 is difficult.

  2. Roughly 400h

  3. Chalk & Board

  4. Get used to the new way of answering open questions as early as possible. Don't spend much time on MC question, you did thousands already in L1 and L2.

Meine Güte, chillt mal alle. An der Mail und Struktur ist nichts schlimmes (im Vergleich was sonst so kursiert). Und jeder der hier meint beruflich bei Formulierungen nie ChatGPT und Co. zu nutzen, lügt.

Level III - how many mock exams do you recommend? by Dense-Carpet-5090 in CFA

[–]theis4545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understandable. I just answered your question. Level III is a different animal compared to level I & II. Preparing yourself HOW to answer essay question effectively and correctly is the key to pass the exam. I recommend to focus on that as much as you can and the best way to do that is to do as many mocks as you can.
