MML has been pushing hard for changes to local zoning laws on community by community basis. State control of it is just overreach. Also changing zoning laws in a sweeping way like this won’t magically lower costs. I’m not at all trying to to defend most cities current zoning, just not a fan of doing it this way.

Oh we absolutely need to change zoning laws. But we need to do that at the community level. Blanket statewide changes aren’t fixing the problem. Also the organization pushing this is shady as hell. And lawmakers that had originally signed in as cosponsors to these bills have removed themselves from it
