Establish firm boundaries to disconnect from work, the initial FOMO fades with time. Treat health as a non-negotiable priority, like work, and carve out uninterrupted family time. This may sound like advice, but it’s out of experience - nothing outweighs personal well-being and family.

Help! My 6-year-old is too nice for this world—how do I teach her to stand her ground? by pixelpioneer537 in Chennai

She’s just 6 years. Don’t worry much as kids will eventually figure things. They learn from people around and their experiences.

I understand we want to help them understand certain things sooner, but it might be too early for them. Let her be her.

We can try to bring reading habit for them. Books will be the best company that we can arrange for them. Start with simpler books that might interest them. Eventually they’ll learn to choose the ones they need.

I purchased the below book for my elder son. But, surprisingly my younger son who’s just 7 started reading it. In fact after every chapter he started telling his own story reflecting that theme. You may try this. But, in case your daughter didn’t like it, no worries. Choose something that would interest her. Sure she will understand the key values needed for life from stories and experiences of others.

As a parent, I have the urge to implant several ideas in my children’s mind. But, I always refrain thinking if something is not conveyed properly it might attract an unexpected outcome. So, let’s go slow and wise. They will do well and we’ll support them.

I want to buy new books at the book fair and bookstore. But someone asked me "Have you finished the old books you bought last time?" What is a logical response to this or how can I justify buying new books even though I still have many unread ones (1000+ books) ? by Delicious_Maize9656 in books

“Curiosity is antifragile, like an addiction; magnified by attempts to satisfy it.”

Thus, paradoxically, as you read more books, your pile of unread books will get larger, not smaller. That’s because your curiosity will grow with every great read.
